Warriors guard and NBA MVP Stephen Curry missed 18 of 23 shots while turning the ball over six times, air- balling a possible go-ahead jumper in the waning seconds of overtime.
Meanwhile, Irving’s re- placement – the tireless Dellavedova – clinched the game with two clutch free throws in the final seconds after securing an offensive re- bound off a James Jones miss.
Jones was the seventh in a seven-man rotation as Cleveland threw all that it competently had against Golden State in the win.

The NBA Finals were ex- pected to be a one-sided affair with Cleveland working with- out the injured Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, and yet the Cavs rallied behind Le- Bron James and the inde- fatigable Matthew Dellavedova in order to pull out the 95-93 win.
The Cleveland Cavaliers stunned just about anyone who had been paying a whiff of attention to these NBA Fi- nals, downing the 67-win Golden State Warriors in overtime to take a 1-1 series tie back to Cleveland.
The Warriors had to over- come an 11-point deficit with 3:13 left in the contest in order to force that overtime, with a series of calls going their way on both ends. James wowed all onlookers with a 39-point, 16-rebound and 11-assist night, but he also missed 23 of 34 shots from the field and clanged a potential game-win- ner in regulation.

NFL officiating director Dean Blandino said Friday that Sarah Thomas will work as a line judge with vet- eran referee Pete Morelli.
Thomas already had been announced as the first woman hired by the league as a full- time, on-field official.
Thomas was in the league's officiating develop- ment program in 2013 and '14 and has worked at minicamps, training camps and exhibition games.
She has officiated for Con- ference USA since 2007, with assignments including the Senior Bowl, the Pizza Bowl, the Fight Hunger Bowl, the Medal of Honor Bowl, and the league championship game in 2010 and '14
Concussion Believed To Be Reason 49er Star OT Retired
ANTHONY DAVIS
Right tackle Anthony Davis announced his retire- ment from the San Francisco 49ers in yet another shocking loss for the team this offsea- son, and it was unclear whether the decision stemmed from his difficulties with a concussion last year.
The 25-year-old Davis in- formed the team Friday through his usual way of com- municating: He sent a text message to coach Jim Tom- sula before his old team- mates practiced.
''After a few years of thought, I've decided it will be best for me to take a year or so away from the NFL. This will be a time for me to allow my brain and body a chance to heal. I know many won't understand my decision, that's OK,'' Davis said in a statement provided by agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Kyrie Irving may no longer be playing with his teammates in the NBA Finals, but he wants them to know he is still watching -- and cheer- ing.
In a Cleveland hospital re- covering from surgery on the knee he injured in Game 1, Irving on Sunday night watched from his bed as his Cavalier teammates won Game 2 of the Finals in Oak- land, Calif., topping the War- riors 95-93 in OT.

sent a message to the team through his Instagram ac- count.
The Cavaliers and Warriors are tied at one game apiece, now heading to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4.
Rumors indicate that Jameis Winston may not end up being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 1 starter.
Though the Buccaneers are reportedly enthralled with the Florida State product going into the draft, it’s clear that they’re not going to sim- ply hand him the starting slot.
REALLY?
The speculations and questions started after Win- ston was placed with the sec- ond team last week.
“Jameis and everybody else have to earn their posi- tion,” coach Lovie Smith said. “Jameis is getting his first-team reps. You guys are here on Thursday, and Wednesday he was with the first group then. Don’t look too much into that. We just want the guys we think can play to get reps, and we want them to work with a lot of dif- ferent combinations.
“Jameis is right on schedule. We’re not disap- pointed or anything like that in him.”
While Smith gave a good endorsement and it’s likely that Winston will end up the starter, his debut may end up being later in the season if the
WNBA Star Griner Getting Marriage
Jameis Winston takes reps from the 2nd team last week.
Bucs find he’s having any kind of difficulty getting up to speed.
Winston hasn’t had any problems since he arrived in Tampa the day after the draft. And he was okay with the team’s strategy of starting him out in the No. 2 spot.
“I was never given any- thing in my life, so the way I was brought up, I have to earn everything,” Winston said. “The main thing is to earn the respect of all these players out here.”
The rumors regarding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be over by training camp and a starter emerges, but it’s clear that they’re in no rush for Jameis Winston’s de- velopment.
Brittney Griner says she is seeking to annul her mar- riage to fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson -- who an- nounced this week that she was pregnant.
The players were married on May 8, weeks after both were arrested in a domestic vi- olence incident in Arizona.
Later in May, both players were suspended by the WNBA for seven games over the inci- dent, which resulted in charges of disorderly conduct, fighting and assault with in- tent to injury.
The WNBA's investigation into the matter found that a shoving match between the two escalated into a fight in which punches were thrown and both women injured.
Griner, who led the Phoenix Mercury to the WNBA title last season, told ESPN in a statement on Fri- day that the couple agreed to

split last week.
"I can confirm that today I
filed for an annulment," Griner said. "In the week prior to the wedding, I at- tempted to postpone the wed- ding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mis- take."
Griner's remarks came a day after Johnson, a forward for the Tulsa Shock, an- nounced she was pregnant and would miss the 2015 sea- son that opened on Friday.
