30th National Conference On Preventing Crime In The Black Community Held

Last month, Tampa was the host city for the “30th National Conference On Preventing Crime In The Community.” The event was held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina in downtown Tampa.
The Conference was hosted by local law enforce- ment, the Derrick Brooks Charities Foundation, and other organizations. More than 1,300 individuals from throughout the state were in attendance.
Individuals from throughout the country at- tended the conference. Re- tired NFL player Derrick
Brooks delivered the opening keynote address for the 3-day event.
Ms. Robbie Mont- gomery was the speaker for the Thursday Adult luncheon and Sheriff David Clarke, Jr., was the speaker for the Friday luncheon.
Dennis Rahiim Wat- son addressed the teenagers during their Thursday luncheon and Dr. Brenda Caldwell was their speaker on Fri- day.
Those in attendance at the conference participat- ing in a series of workshops throughout the event.
