Gospel Legends Preparing To Celebrate 5th Year
TAMPA BAY GOSPEL LEGENDS ...5th Year Reunion Program, August 5, 2017
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
The Tampa Bay Gospel Leg- ends are preparing for their 5th Annual Quartet Reunion on Saturday, August 5, 2017. This year’s theme is “Working To- gether in Love and Unity.”
The Tampa Bay Gospel Leg- ends, a choir that enjoys singing praises to the Lord, was an idea of Mrs. Marie Miller. She wanted to make sure the com- munity holds on to the quartet- type of music and remember the artists who sang with quar- tets in this community. She and
some others were able to pull together the choir that consists of members from many gospel groups, family and friends of the Tampa Bay area. So many of the younger artists did not know anything about quartet singing.
“We are so blessed to be able to share this time with all singers, young and old,” she said.
“This year is so special be- cause we have been together for 5 long years. We have planned a special program for this reunion and we want the community to join us,” Mrs. Miller said.
The program will be held at St. John Cathedral, 3401 25th Avenue, Tampa (33605), Elder Dwight Newkirk, Pastor. The program is at 5 p. m.
Special guests who have been invited to perform are: Paul Porter, The Harmony Winds, The Brothers of Harmony, The Fantastic Spiritual Wonders and The Exciting Gospel Warriors.
