Winners Of
State Rep.-Elect Shares Her ‘First Order Of Business’
Nonpartisan Races
To Be Decided
In November

Newly elected state offi- cials will be sworn into office on November 13th in Talla- hassee. Ms. Dianne Hart is among those anxiously wait- ing to assume her new role as State Representative.
Ms. Hart said one of the first things she hopes to do is to serve on the Education Committee. “The Early Childhood Education fund- ing system has to be changed through having conversa- tions with Republicans; that has to be done.”
She also said that she wants to address career choices in vocational pro- grams for those students who don’t want to attend tra- ditional college. “There are some students who don’t want to go to college. But if they have career choices, they can come out of school and into a career.
“There is a labor shortage for housing because there are
a runoff in November. She will attend her first session in January 2019.
Ms. Hart, known by many as Ms. Dee, is a life- long East Tampa resident, community activist and small business owner.
In addition to her posi- tion as the CEO of the East Tampa Business and Civic Association, Ms. Hart has owned and operated Ms. Dee’s World of Beauty, for over 30 years. She is a Board member of Hillsborough County Children’s Advisory Board, the NFL YET Center, and member of the Afford- able Housing Trust Fund Task Force.
Ms. Hart earned a Bach- elor’s Degree in Human Services from Springfield College and attends New Mount Zion Missionary Bap- tist Church. She is the mother of three children and she built a small business in the same community she now wants to serve in Talla- hassee.

Last Tuesday, several candidates did not get enough votes in Nonpartisan races to decide a winner. The winners of those races will be decided during the General Election in November.
A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Super- visor of Elections Office said in Nonpartisan races, the candidate must win 50 per- cent, plus 1 vote in order to be determined the winner.
In the race for Circuit Judge, 13th Judicial Circuit, Group 25, Robin Fuson earned 63,293. His closest competitor, Jamey Moody, earned 61,970 votes.
In the County Court Judge, Group 2 race, Lisa Allen captured 74,668 to Greg Green’s 82,475 votes.
In the County Court Judge, Group 8 race, Jack Gutman captured the ma- jority with 88,589 votes to E. Michael Isaak,’s 42,396

Candidates for the Hills-
borough County School Board will have a runoff in Districts 1 and 6.
Steve Cona won 11,181 votes to William Person’s 12,322 votes.
In District 6, Karen Perez, who won 53,855 votes will take on Henry “Shake” Washington, won captured 62,801 votes.
The General Election will take place on Tuesday, No- vember 6th.
