Indiana Teen Dies In Police Custody
MR. WILLIE LOUIS SHANNON
Mr. Willie Louis Shannon of Tampa, passed away Satur- day, September 19, 2015.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 1,2015,at7p.m.atRay Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Ave., with Reverend Durie Reaves, offi- ciating.
Mr. Shannon was born to Chester and Clemmie Shan- non on March 1st, 1932 in Lake Alfred, FL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, where he served in the Korean conflict.
He moved to Tampa as a young man where he met and wed Ruth (Dodd) Shannon in 1966. Shortly after Ruth’s death in 1990, he retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a proud ALF - CIO member.
Mr. Shannon loved poli- tics, sports (golf in particular) and cooking.
After a brief bout with ill- ness, he passed away Satur- day, September 19th in the James Haley VA Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Lori D. Shannon and Cheryl (Willie) Ray; sons, Donnie Dodd and Tyrone Sullivan (deceased); grandsons, Willie and Jason Ray; a beloved aunt, Beatrice Keaton; cousins, Inez Patter- son, Sharon McKennon, Vaughn Jackson, Brenda Keaton Hardaway and Janice Thomas Miller; nieces and nephews; other relatives in- cluding, Roland (Elva) Daniels, Valerie Daniels, Brenda (Reginald) Ball, Michael (Elizabeth) Daniels, Michelle Daniels, Ronald Shannon, Darryl Chester Shannon, Randy Shannon, Cheryl Shannon, Harriet (Clarence) Manning, La Sharn Quince and Ryan Mcgee; and a host of other un- cles, aunts, cousins and friends.
The remains will repose Thursday, October 1st, (one hour prior to service time,) 6- 7 p. m. at Ray Williams Fu- neral Home. Arrangements entrusted to RAY WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Rhodes & Northern, Owners.
MRS. OLLIE MAE MARTIN LEE
Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Mae Martin Lee of Thonotosassa, FL, who passed on September 24, 2015, will be held Wednes- day, September 30, 2015, at 11 a. m. at First United Methodist Church of Seffner, 1310 S. Kingsway, Seffner, FL, with the Reverend Mary Beth Packard and Reverend Edward McWilliams, officiat- ing. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, FL.
Mrs. Lee was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Seffner and a member of United Methodist Women for many years.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. Robert L. Lee; stepdaughter, Bar- bara Semonian; and son, Robert L. Lee, Jr.
Ollie’s memories will be cherished by: her children, Carolyn L. Alexander and de- voted husband, George E. Alexander (like a son), Joyce L. Price and Gerald B. Lee; grandchildren, Dr. Georolyn A. Torkelson (Steven), Ara L. Alexander, Michelle L. Gilyard (Shelton), Gerald Lee, Gerell Lee, Robette Lee, Cordelia Lee and Robert Lee; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Rudolph Martin (Ella) and Marvin Martin; sister, Pamela Molana; many nieces and nephews; devoted cousins, Olivia Carmichael- Brown and family, and Harold Shelby; and several other devoted relatives and friends.
Viewing will be take place from 10-11 a. m. (one hour prior to service), Wednes- day, September 30, 2015 at the church.

A loss prevention officer inside Bur-lington Coat Factory stopped Terrell Day, 18, around 1 p.m. The teen reportedly took out a handgun, pointed at the officer and then took off running accord- ing to the Indianapolis Metropoli- tan Police Department.
The loss prevention officer fol- lowed the teen and called police. According to the news station, Day was spotted by police hiding behind a bush at a nearby gas sta- tion and was taken into custody. According to police reports, a gun was found near the teen. While in custody, the teen reportedly told officers that he was having trouble breathing. Police called for an am- bulance, but the EMS crew decided that police could transport Day to the Arrestee Processing Center. While in the police wagon, Day's condition worsened and he told police again that he was having trouble breathing. Police called a second ambulance and despite the best life-saving efforts by the EMS crew, the suspect died in the back of the ambulance," an IMPD state- ment viewed by the news station reads. Day's cause of death has not been determined.
