Patrick Ewing On Hoyas Coaching Job: 'It's A New Era Now'
Sage Steele Has Been Replaced By ESPN
SAGE STEELE
ESPN has decided to re- place Sage Steele with Michelle Beadle as the host of all NBA games for rest of the season, including the NBA Finals.
It’s never fun to see some- one lose their job. But in the case of Sage Steele, who many have accused of “act- ing White,” being replaced by an actual White woman, people can’t help but spot the irony.
The decision to have Bea- dle takeover comes right as the regular season is winding down and going into the playoffs, which when the NBA really gets exciting and ratings begin to soar. Which by industry standards, is a rare move.
Before details of the deci- sion even got out, Steele’s harshest critics showed their fangs and dug in.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Voice
Hall Of Famer Patrick Ewing, Georgetown's new basketball coach, and John Thompson, Jr., Ewing's coach with the Hoyas all those decades ago, greeted each other with a bear hug.
"Great job," Thompson said softly. "Great job."
This reunion of sorts took place Wednesday, steps from a glass case displaying the NCAA tournament trophy the two men helped earn, and mo- ments after Georgetown's president and its athletic di- rector held a news conference to formally introduce Ewing.
Ewing pronounced himself ready to "rebuild" the Hoyas after they "underachieved last year" under his predecessor --

who just so happens to be Thompson's son.
"Had a few down years, and they decided to make a change," Ewing said. "It's a new era now."
Even the pros were fed up with the refs.
With Monday’s NCAA championship game between North Carolina and Gonzaga seemingly stopping every pos- session because of a foul, fans were getting upset, voicing their frustration on Twitter.
Count NBA stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade among the fans who couldn’t deal.
“Let these kids play. Put the whistles away,” Wade tweeted.
“Man I can't watch this anymore man! I would like to see the kids decide who wins

the game! I mean Bruh!! Smh,” wrote James.
Even Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wasn’t feel-
ing the officiating. “Flagrant 1?

UNC Coach Roy Williams Unsure If Tar Heels Will Visit White House
Devin Booker’s Jersey From 70- Point Game Sent To Hall Of Fame
Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are excited to go to the White House. The newly crowned NCAA men’s basket- ball champions? Not so much.
Following North Carolina’s 71-65 National Championship win over Gonzaga, head coach Roy Williams said he’ll have to take some time to decide if the team should go see Presi- dent Donald Trump after winning. That, of course, is if they’re invited.
Williams and the Tar Heels didn’t go when they won in 2005 because members of the team were already in NBA training camps, but they did go in 2009.
“But, you know, the office of

the presidency of the United States is the most fantastic place you can be. But let me think on it,” Williams said. “Again, I don't know that we're going to get invited. I really don't. But I know one thing, we're putting up a nice banner in the Smith Center that's hard to get.”
He may not even be of legal drinking age yet, but Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker is already going to the Hall of Fame ... in a sense.
Booker’s game-worn jer- sey from his 70-point out- burst against the Boston Celtics last month has been sent to the Naismith Memo- rial Basketball Hall of Fame, they announced in a tweet on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old’s eruption on March 24 was the second- highest single-game scoring total in the 21st century and tied for tenth-highest in NBA

history. While there was some controversy over the way Booker did it, it was a his- toric display in every sense of the word and will now be im- mortalized as such. Not bad for a kid who’s still the age of most college sophomores.
Russell Westbrook Notches Record- Tying 41st Triple-Double Of Season
With a rebound and an as- sist within a matter of seconds of each other in the third quar- ter, Russell Westbrook tied Oscar Robertson's mark for most triple-doubles in a single season with 41 against the Mil- waukee Bucks on Tuesday.
Following the Thunder's 110-79 win, Westbrook said his accomplishments this sea- son have been "a blessing" and something he "could never have imagined."
Following the 10th assist, the crowd erupted into a standing ovation and chanted "MVP." At the first stoppage of play, the referee held the ball to allow for the team's public address announcer to make an announcement about the his- toric moment, as Westbrook acknowledged the crowd with a wave. In typical Westbrook

fashion, he needed only 22 minutes to record the triple- double. He has the second- fastest triple-double in history and of his 41 this season, 13 have come in three quarters or less.
With the Thunder well ahead for most of the game, Westbrook logged just 27 minutes to finish with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 13 as- sists. His 12 points are the fewest he has scored in a game this season.
