Mr. Allen was born on Decem- ber 9, 1961 in Tampa, FL to the parentage of Otis C. Allen, Sr. and Theresa Allen. He was edu- cated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and gradu- ated from Hillsborough High School, Class of 1979 and later graduated from Bethune-Cook- man College, Class of 1985.
Mr. Allen was a retired teacher. “Bruce” was a lifelong member of St. John Progressive M. B. Church, where he joined under the pastorage of the late Rev. F. G. Hilton. He was an ac- tive member of his beloved choir #3 for over 30 years.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day,April7,2017from5–8p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 5– 6 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approximately 1:45 p. m. for the service.

Ms. Shelia J. Harris of Tampa, passed away Thurs- day, March 30, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted Sat- urday, April 8, at 11 a. m. at Kingdom Come Ministries, 912 E. Fairbanks Street, with Pastor Rogers, officiating. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Ms. Harris was a native and resident of Tampa, Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County and was a mem- ber of Kingdom Come Ministries.

DR. VALERIE E. WHITEMAN-WHITE
Dr. Valerie E. Whiteman- White of Tampa passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017. A Memo- rial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
Dr. Valerie E. Whiteman- White was born in Kew Gardens, NY to Leopold Whiteman, Sr. and Mabel Eugenia Bradshaw Whiteman. She resided in Tampa for the past 10 years after living previously in New Castle, Delaware, and Philadelphia, PA.
A noted specialist in the field of high-risk pregnancy, Dr. Whiteman-White earned her medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. She completed her OB/GYN residency at SUNY Health Science Center of Brook- lyn, NY and at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellow.
Dr. Whiteman-White launched her career as an at- tending perinatologist and assis- tant professor at Temple University Hospital. Joining the medical staff of Tampa General Hospital, she served as an at- tending perinatologist and assis- tant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at University of South Florida (USF) -Morsani.
Dr. Whiteman-White, known as “Val” to family and friends, was strong in her Christian faith and was a member of Revealing Truth Ministries Christian Cen- ter.
As a dog lover, she doted on her dogs, Murdock, Bonrai, and later Coco. She faced her adver- sities with grace and courage as a relentless fighter to the end. Prior to her illness, she was training for a triathlon.
Dr. Whiteman-White is pre- deceased by her parents and hus- band, William “Skip” White.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted daughter, Talia White; fiancé, Simplice Essou; brothers, Leopold “Lee” Whiteman, Jr. and Esmond Modeste; sisters-in- law, Brenda Payne Whiteman and Gail White Agbugui; nieces, Belinda and Bethany Whiteman, Christina Agbugui, Julia Mod- este; nephew, Martin Agbugui; sister-cousins, Barbara Weber, Keisha Weber Robinson, Kim Weber, Sharon Russell-Fowler, and many, many other close rel- atives, co-workers, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Deacon Earnest Tharp and Julia Benson Tharp Joiner; brother, Tom Tharp; and sister, Barbara Jean Tharp Collier.

Mrs. Thomasine Tharp Walker Banks, known as “Bit” to family and friends, was born in Dothan, Alabama on October 1, 1950 to the parentage of Dea- con Ernest Tharp and Julia Ben- son Tharp Joiner. She was baptized at an early age at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa, and she was the third child of five siblings.
Mrs. Banks attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Mid- dleton High School Class of 1968 and studied at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL. Thomasine worked for Hillsborough Community Col- lege for 35 years retiring in May of 2015.
She was also a member of the Hillsborough Chapter of the Charmettes, Inc. Thomasine was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who was deeply committed to her family. Her beauty, grace, and kindness enriched all who knew her.
There will be a viewing on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5 p. m. – 8 p. m. with the family present to receive friends from 7 p. m. – 8 p. m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approximately 2:45 p. m. for the service.
