White House And Government News
Republicans Still Trying To Repeal And Replace Obamacare Before Easter Break
President Trump’s Chief Strategist Steve Bannon Removed From National Security Council; Frustrated By Trump’s Children
The man credited with hon- ing Donald Trump’s pop- ulist message and guiding him into the White House has grown frustrated amid continued infighting in the West Wing, so much so that in recent weeks a top donor allegedly had to convince him to stay in his position, ac- cording to reports. And to add fuel to the fire, he has been removed from the Na- tional Security Council.
Folks on the inside of the administration and several sources close to the presi- dent, say that Steve Ban- non, one of Trump’s closest advisers, has clashed with the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who’s taken on an increasingly prominent port- folio in the West Wing. Ban- non has complained that Kushner and his allies are trying to undermine his pop- ulist approach, according to POLITICO.
Republican mega-donor Rebekah Mercer, a long- time Bannon confidante who became a prominent Trump supporter during the campaign, urged Bannon not to resign.
A mega-donor to Donald Trump’s campaign, Rebekah Mercer has allegedly urged Steve Bannon not to quit as Pres. Trump’s senior adviser. Bannon, according to White House sources is frustrated because of Trump’s son-in-law and now his daughter, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Bannon has been ousted from National Security Council, too.
Bannon has worked closely with Mercer not only at the right-wing website Bre- itbart News, where her fam- ily is a major investor and where he served as executive chairman until joining the Trump campaign in August, but also at Cambridge Ana- lytica, the data-analytics firm owned largely by the Mer- cers.
Bannon is a part owner of the firm. At Breitbart, Ban- non, 67, was among the ear- liest Trump supporters and is credited with building the ideological foundation of the
Trump movement.
Chief strategist Bannon
has been removed from an important seat on the Na- tional Security Council — a posting that had stirred con- troversy for placing one of Pres. Trump’s top political hands in a key national secu- rity position.
The change represents the first real diminution of au- thority for Bannon, who has been cast as an all-powerful whisperer to Trump in the administration’s first 75 days, mocked by his critics as “President Bannon.”
Republicans Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy are being charged by Pres. Trump and V.P. Pence to find a way to win the Obamacare fight.
House Republicans are considering an emergency com- mittee meeting Thursday to keep their Obamacare replace- ment plan afloat, according to POLITICO — a last-minute de- cision that comes just as the GOP repeal effort was seen as all but dead for the foreseeable fu- ture.
The House Rules Committee alerted staff late Wednesday night that the panel may con- vene Thursday to hear from Re- publicans on next steps forward for their health care alternative.
Speaker Paul Ryan pulled the bill from the floor two weeks ago after failing to secure the votes for passage, and since then the legislation has led to Republican infighting.
Two sources did not believe
the hearing, if scheduled, would have an immediate impact on the legislative calendar.
Lawmakers are slated to leave town for a two-week Easter re- cess starting Thursday, though some Republicans have encour- aged leaders to keep Congress in session until they hash out a deal.
Discussions about the hearing come just hours after Ryan (R- Wis.) and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) met at the White House with top advisers to President Donald Trump to discuss health care.
Vice President Mike Pence spent the past week meeting with conservatives and moderates to try to flesh out an agreement that would appease both sides.
Omarosa Postpones Wedding Due To Death Threats
Omarosa Manigault was supposed to get married on March 25, but she has had to postpone the ceremony after she and her husband-to-be, Pastor John Allen Newman have received death threats in addition to backlash from the church he oversees, The Sanctu- ary at Mt. Calvary in Jack- sonville, Florida.
Omarosa, who serves as the Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison for President Donald Trump, has not only postponed but moved the wedding to Wash- ington, D.C., because of safety concerns. The ceremony will now take place on April 8 at an undisclosed location.

She is really concerned about her safety. There have been calls, emails and social media messages from people threaten- ing to do harm to her and she feared that she wouldn’t be pro- tected adequately at his church in Jacksonville. So she pushed the date back and made the change,” a source close to Omarosa told DailyMail.com.
Vet White House Correspondent April Ryan Hired By CNN
Bad news for Sean Spicer, for Donald Trump, and for the rest of the administration.
All around fantastic journal- ist April Ryan just got a big promotion.
In a long-overdo move, Ryan herself reported on Twitter that she has been hired by CNN as a political analyst.
The American Urban Radio Networks White House corre- spondent and thorn in Sean Spicer’s leathery hide went from the byline to the head- lines recently — first for help- ing our president realize that all Black people do not, in fact, know one another, and last week by vexing Sean Spicer.
Veteran White House Corre- spondent April Ryan hired by CNN.
Ryan asks questions of the Trump administration that
others don’t, like when she asked about the CBC, or what Trump learned from his photo-op ready visit to the Na- tional Museum of African American History. ‘
And with 20 years experi- ence in Washington, she has the sort of insight and journal- istic chops that make those that listen to her all the wiser and more informed.
Not to mention the push and shove she had with her once so-called friend, Omarosa Manigualt.
CNN has been dissed over and over again by the Trump Administration...now the guns are loaded.
