WILSON
MRS. EDNA M. WILKERSON
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Edna M. Wilkerson will be held on Saturday August 13, 2022 at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd., Tampa, Florida, Dr. Sam Maxwell, Senior Teaching-Pastor with Dr. Antonio Wilkerson, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Plant City, Florida, Eulogist. Interment will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Florida National Cemetery.
Edna M. Wilkerson was born May 5, 1946 in Alexander City, Ala- bama to Roland and Annie Mae Goggans who preceded her in death.
Edna was educated in the Coosa County School System. She later graduated from Middleton High School in Tampa, Florida. Edna met and married the love of her life, Hillard Jimmy Wilkerson, Jr. They were married for 58 years; August 30, 2022 would have marked 59 years. As a military family she traveled extensively to several parts of the world. Edna was employed as a home health aide. She was also employed with the MacDill AFB Post Exchange for many years. Edna was also a Pre- school teacher at her home church – The Progress Village Christian Academy. Edna and her family were longtime residents of the Progress Village community and members of The First Baptist Church of Progress Village. She was active in the Deaconess Min- istry, the music ministry, Sunday Morning Bible Study and the SSOIL Ministry.
Edna leaves to cherish lasting memories with: a loving and de- voted husband of 58 years, Hillard Jimmy Wilkerson, Jr.; a loving daughter and caregiver, Phyllis Wilkerson; a loving and devoted son, Dr. Antonio (Shirley) Wilker- son; 3 grandchildren, Da’Nisha Wilkerson, Antonika Baldwin, and Antonio Wilkerson, Jr.; 5 great- grands; 2 great-great grands; 2 sis- ters, Ann Boyd and Doris Alford; 2 brothers, Ocie Goggans and Stan- ley Ransaw; a host of nieces and nephews; 2 sisters-in- law, Beverly White and Debra Hill; 2 brothers- in-law, Ernest Wilkerson, Tommy White and a host of other sorrow- ing relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing on Friday August 12, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. Due to the current CDC restrictions; we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final respect. For your convenience and safety, we have extended our visi- tation hours. THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING AT THE CHURCH ON SATURDAY. The service will be live-streamed from the church website, www.fbcopv.org.

Mr. Leon Raymond Ghent, 64, died Saturday, August 13, 2022. Funeral service will be Sat- urday, August 14, 2022, at 1 PM at Pentecostal Church of God of Jesus Christ, 509 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33602, Rev. Antwan Williams will be officiat- ing and the Pastor is Frannie Mitchell.
Mr. Ghent is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Simmons Ghent; son, Leon Ghent, Jr.; daughter, Kasony Knighton; 3 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert, Eugene and Charles Ghent; 2 sisters, Wanda Ghent and Essie Willis; a host of relatives and friends.
The remains will repose on Friday from 4-7 PM at Pente- costal Church of God of Jesus Christ. CDC guidelines for all services.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Aaron Wilson, 68, who passed on August 2, 2022, will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke A. M. E. Church, 2709 N. 25th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Pastor Kirk R. Bogen, officiating. Interment will be held on Monday August 15, 2022 at Florida National Ceme- tery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Aaron Wilson was born to the late Fred Wilson, Jr. and Eu- nice Bostic on August 7, 1953 in New York. As a child, Aaron at- tended the schools in the New York public school system. Early in his young adult years, Aaron enlisted in the United States Ma- rine Corp and he served honor- ably from August 1972 through February 1978. During his years of service, Aaron received several medals of Honor including Good Conduct, Meritorious Unit Cita- tion, National Defense Service and Rifle Expert medals. After leaving the Marine Corp, Aaron was em- ployed with Tampa Electric for many years until he retired. In October 1993, Aaron was united in holy matrimony to Anita Jordan. In November 2019, Aaron began to take Tai Chi and he became a certified Tai Chi Practitioner with American Tai Chi & Oigong Asso- ciation. In March, of 2021 he served Veterans at JAHVA where he was affectionately called Sifu Wilson. He absolutely loved Tai Chi and never let an opportunity pass without sharing with other Veterans how Tai Chi has helped him and would help them as well. Aaron was also a part of Veteran Outreach via AmeriCorps from August 2021 through July 2022.
Aaron is survived by: his wife, Anita Wilson; children, Sheena Atkins and Jaaron Wilson and wife, Priscilla; two stepsons, Clif- ford Ulmer, IV and wife, Nikki and Edward Collins; grandchildren, Ajani Anderson, Keanu Atkinson, Kanye Atkinson, Samuel Kelly, Jordan Ulmer, Tania Ulmer, Des- tiny Ulmer, Camilla Collins and Nathan Collins; siblings, Barbara Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Denise Wilson, Juanita Small, Gregory and Tanya Wilson; mother-in-law, Ella Jordan; sister-in-law, broth- ers-in-law and a host of other rel- atives and friends.
