A second Lee County man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Tampa rapper. He was arrested on a warrant issued by the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice last Thursday, August 4, 2022.
According to police,
Demon Jamaol Speed
was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Ari Williams, a Tampa rapper known as Rollie Bands.
The first man arrested in Fort Myers last week was Darrien Day, 25, also of Fort Myers, was arrested on August 2, 2022. He was also charged with first-degree murder.
The Fort Myers Police De- partment and the U. S. Mar- shal’s Service arrested Demon Jamaol Speed on a first-degree homicide war- rant out of Hillsborough County. The U. S. Marshal Service also played a role in the apprehension of Speed.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Speed was wanted in con- nection to the murder of Ari Williams, 27, at the IQ Apartments, 12708 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., on July 22nd.

Man Charged With Trying To Choke Deputy
  A 22-year-old Tampa man has been charged with at- tempting to choke a Hillsbor- ough County deputy. The incident took place at the Falkenburg Jail.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County webpage, Yohance Johnson was ar- rested on June 20, 2022, and charged with stalking and written or electronic threat to do bodily harm. He is alleged to have grabbed a deputy from behind and attempted to choke him. But the deputy quickly escaped the hold. No

Speed had been facing charges of premeditated murder and additional gun charges.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, police received the report of a shooting involving an adult man. The shooting took place in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
Deputies said, the sus- pects had driven away from the scene in an unknown di- rection. At this time, the shooting does not appear random, and the suspects and victim possibly know each other.
The victim was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Rollie Bands
According to Social Media, the victim was an as- piring Tampa rapper known as “Rollie Bands.”
Prior to the shooting, Rollie Bands reportedly challenged his enemies on Instagram to try and kill him and advertised his address.
The post stated, “A lot of these n-ggas know where I live at fr. I sleep in peace. If a n-gga want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 minutes.”
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office would not confirm that the victim was the rapper known as Rollie Bands.

 Masked Men Steal More Than $100,000 From Jewelry Store

   Police are currently searching for three masked suspects who took merchan- dise from a store. The theft took place August 2nd, just after 1:30 p. m., at Citrus Park Town Center.
The three masked men entered the mall at an em- ployee entrance located on the building’s south side. They proceeded to the Dia- mond Galleria store, where they broke display cases hold- ing high-end watches. The suspects stole more than $100,000 worth of merchan- dise before exiting the mall at the same employee entrance they had entered through ear- lier.
Another suspect was wait- ing for the others in a 2020- 2022 silver Nissan Murano and the driver, a fourth sus- pect in the investigation. The
suspects left the mall in an unknown direction.

Sheriff Chad Chronister
said, “These suspects are seen on camera and video, so it’s only a matter of time before they are caught for the crimes they committed today.
“Thankfully, nobody was injured at the mall. I’m ask- ing anyone who may have seen or heard something that could assist detectives with their investigation to please call us so we can look into it further.”
