WNBA star Skylar Dig- gins and her husband, Daniel Smith, announced this week that they’re expect- ing their first child.
Both parties shared video from a recent ultrasound where the baby’s heartbeat could be heard. They cap- tioned the video, “Can’t wait to meet you!”
Nuggets Swingman Will Barton Diagnosed With Strained Groin
WILL BARTON
Denver Nuggets swingman Will Barton underwent an MRI exam Sunday that re- vealed a groin strain.
His recovery timetable is still being determined.
Barton, 27, was injured after converting a reverse layup in the third quarter dur- ing Saturday’s win over the Phoenix Suns.
The Nuggets’ starting small forward collapsed to the floor in agonizing pain and was es- corted off the court in a wheel- chair.
He had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting in 19 minutes of play. Barton signed a four-year, $54 million deal with Denver in the offseason after averag- ing 15.7 points, five rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Nuggets last year. He is in his seventh NBA season after being a sec- ond-round draft selection out
of Memphis in 2012.

Brandon Ingram re- ceived a four-game suspen- sion for his actions during a brawl between the Los Ange- les Lakers and Houston Rockets on Saturday.
He won’t be the only player missing time. The league handed out suspen- sions to both Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo as well.
All three players threw punches during the fight. In- gram was initially at the cen- ter of the dispute, and was hit with the longest suspension. Rondo and Paul went at it once Ingram was dragged away from the action. The two started throwing punches after Rondo spit on Paul. The NBA reviewed tape of the incident, and fac-
tored the spit into their deci- sion. After Paul and Rondo began fighting, Ingram re- entered the fray and threw a punch.
The incident started after Ingram fouled James Harden late in the fourth quarter. Ingram disagreed with the call and pushed Harden in the back, draw- ing a technical. Lance Stephenson jumped in to pull Ingram away from the fight, and that’s when Rondo and Paul started going at it.
The fight marred what should have been an exciting night for the Lakers, as it was LeBron James’ home debut. The Lakers went on to lose the game 124-115.
Le’Veon Bell still has not informed the Pittsburgh Steel- ers of when he plans to show up for work, and that may have something to do with all the trade talk surrounding the star running back.
The Steelers still had not heard from Bell as of Sunday, and there is a belief that he could wait to report until after the Oct. 30 trade deadline be- cause he does not want to be moved. Bell still is not techni- cally under contract with the Steelers since he has not signed the franchise tender, and they would not be able to complete a trade involving him unless he signed it.
Pittsburgh is not actively trying to trade Bell, but the team has not ruled it out. Bell has not generated a ton of in- terest because of his situation, however.

There were initially reports that Bell would report to the Steelers during their bye this past week, but that did not happen. He likely does not want to be traded because he would prefer to become a free agent next offseason and choose his next team, though some comments from Steelers owner Art Rooney II on Sun- day seem to indicate Bell will remain in Pittsburgh for the immediate future.
Games like Sunday might be why the Atlanta Hawks traded back and scooped up Trae Young at the 2018 NBA draft rather than stick- ing with Luka Doncic with the third overall pick.
In just the third game of his NBA career, the point guard posted the first 30- point game of this year’s NBA rookie class against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sun- day.
Young ended up finish- ing with 35 points on 13-of- 23 shooting with 11 assists in 38 minutes, all of them team- leading marks.

fort, the Hawks set a fran- chise record with 22 3-point- ers in a 133-111 upset win against the Cavaliers on the road. It was the Hawks’ first win of the season.
