A 42-year-old Tampa man was arrested Sunday night and charged in con- nection with a double mur- der. The murder took place at an apartment complex.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, deputies responded to 4302 Mariner’s Cove Court, shortly before 7 p.m. When deputies arrived, they dis- covered that a 34-year-old woman and a 10-year-old child were both dead inside the apartment. Police have not released the names of the victims.

The Lakeland Police De- partment charged a City Commissioner with murder last Friday. He is accused of shooting a suspected shoplifter as he was leaving the store.
The shooting took place shortly after 2:30 p.m., on October 3rd. The shooting took place at the Vets Army Navy Surplus, 819 N. Florida Avenue.
According to police, Christobal Lopez had en- tered the store with his fa- ther. As his father was making a purchase, store owner Michael Christo- pher Dunn, who is a Lake- land City Commissioner, observed him conceal a hatchet before leaving the store.
Dunn confronted Lopez and asked if he were going to pay for the hatchet. A con- frontation between the two men ensued and Dunn fired

Detectives said when deputies arrived Tyrone Terell Johnson was still on the scene.
Detectives interviewed Johnson and later charged him with 1 count of first-de- gree murder, aggravated child abuse, 1 count of sec- ond-degree murder, and shooting within a building. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
Additional details of the crime were limited at press time. The investigation is continuing.
JUSTIN VANCLEFF HEILIG Died September 30
Detectives have arrested a woman in connection with a murder that took place on September 30th. She has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Willow after re- ceiving reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a man bleeding and lying on a front porch. He had been shot and stabbed.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he died. The victim was identified as 34-year-old Justin Vancleff Heilig, of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Detectives are continuing to collect evidence from the scene and talk with neighbors. Among the items they found at the scene were a bloody knife and a Pandora bracelet.

detectives received informa- tion that Heilig had been with Ms. Melissa McNutt, 25, of Brandon, on the night of the murder. Witnesses also told police that Heilig was seen getting into Ms. McNutt’s Black Nissan Altima, in Ybor City.
The vehicle also matched the description of a dark-col- ored vehicle observed in sur- veillance f00tage. The vehicle was observed leaving the area shortly after the gunshots were heard around 4:30 a.m., that Sunday.
Detectives said DNA found on the bracelet placed Ms. McNutt at the scene of the murder. The investigation into Heilig’s murder is continu- ing.

After reviewing the video, detectives took the case be- fore the Grand Jury and Dunn was indicted. He was charged with second-degree murder.

Police are currently inves- tigating the death of a 24- year-old man.
His body was found Fri- day afternoon near the inter- section of Dale Mabry Highway and Busch Blvd.
According to police, the victim, identified as Michael Andrew Montalbano, 34, of Tampa, suffered from upper body trauma. Para- medics responded and at- tempted to render first aid, but he died of his injuries.
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice said the incident leading to the death began at a differ- ent location nearby and ended on Busch Blvd.
The murder took place shortly before 3 p.m. The in- vestigation is continuing.
