Viola Davis To Play Villain In 'Hunger Games' Prequel
SZA To Make Acting Debut In Upcoming Dramedy, 'Tuna Melt'

SZA is expanding her ca- reer horizon as the CTRL singer lands her first leading role in a feature film. She will star alongside Euphoria‘s Chloe Cherry and Boogie‘s Eddie Huang in Tuna Melt. The dramedy, written and di- rected by Huang, is described as a cross between Pulp Fic- tion and High Fidelity, Dead- line reports.
Huang will portray a hit- man who unintentionally meets the love of his life not long after he completes the job. The “Good Days” artist will play his unnamed love in- terest.
Usher Announces Vegas Residency Will Return In 2023

Viola Davis has joined the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Song- birds and Snakes.
According to The Holly- wood Reporter, Davis is set to play the villain Dr. Vo- lumnia Gaul, who will be the head game maker of the 10th annual Hunger Games. Viola will join the cast, which includes Tom Blyth, who plays Coriolanus Snow, and Rachel Zegler, who plays tribute Lucy Gray Baird. Directed by Francis Lawrence, who also di- rected three of the four Hunger Games movies, and

will also produce alongside Nina Jacobson and her partner Brad Simpson.
Usher has announced that his Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live will return in 2023. The crooner will be back for 25 dates between March 2023 and July 2023, following two successful runs in 2021 and 2022.
Compared to his first run at Caesars Palace, the Dolby Live experience is completely ele-
vated with special lighting and video effects, and lavish cos- tumes. Not to mention, this 2022 residency celebrates the 25th anniversary of his sopho- more album, My Way. Limited tickets are still available as the current residency runs through the end of October. He is also set to perform at this year’s Global Citizen Festival.
Kenya Barris Is Working On A Reimagined 'Wizard Of Oz'
Kenya Barris has a new film in the works. The black- ish creator is set to write and direct a reimagining of The Wizard Of Oz with his Khal- abo Ink Society producing. Deadline exclusively re- ported the deal closed last week.
The filmmaker has kept many details of the project under wraps. However, it’s been reportedly described as a “fresh take” on Dorothy’s journey as she encountered colorful characters on her journey to meet the Wizard.
