Candidates For City Election On The Move
The "Maat Project," a group of community activists, met at the Reed Building in Encore with run-off candi- dates for the upcoming May- oral and City Council races. The Maat Project is a collective
of outreach groups and leaders who intend to represent the African American community as a unified front advocating transparency and pushback. Corporations, individuals and government agencies that con-
tinue to neglect and exclude African Americans from eco- nomic and social prosperity can expect to hear from this group, says the council of eld- ers that mentor and support the group.
The NCAA Women’s Final Four was held in Tampa April 5-7. One of the free events for the community was a Basket- ball Clinic for girls 8-18 years old. The “Girls At The 4” bas-
ketball clinic was held at the Police Athletic League and conducted by the Catch The Stars Foundation and hosted by WNBA legend, Tamika Catchings.
