Man Guilty Of Murder To Be Sentenced
DEANDRE TOLLIVER ...Found guilty of murder

Last week, a jury found a 26-year-old man guilty of first-degree murder. He will be sentenced on Thursday. He is facing life in prison.
The murder trial of De- Andre Tolliver, of Lake- land, began on Monday, July 14th. He has been found guilty of killing Anthony Jerome Lee, a popular Tampa man known throughout the coun- try as South Beach Wanda.
A Tampa native, Lee completed his senior year at King High School. Lee then launched his career as a fe- male impersonator. He
adopted his stage name from “Wanda,” a character on the television show, “In Liv- ing Color.”
Police said that on the on the night of May 28, 2013, Lee, 49, was shot while at the home of a friend in the 3900 block of E. Genesee. He died a few hours later at a local hospital. He was visiting an ill friend when the shoot- ing took place.
Evidence presented at trial said Tolliver and two other men drove up to the home and knocked on the door. When Lee opened the door, Tolliver forced him
inside and demanded $200. Lee was shot during the struggle that followed.
A witness in the shooting testified that Tolliver had demanded $200 before the shooting.
The jury also found Tol- liver guilty of robbery with a firearm, and armed burglary of a dwelling.
A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office said Tol- liver had been offered a sen- tence of 25 years in prison on the charges. However, he re- jected the offer.

Woman Gets 3 Years For ID Theft, Tax Fraud, And Housing Fraud
Last Friday, a federal judge sentenced a Tampa woman to federal prison and ordered her to pay restitution to the Internal Revenue Serv- ice. She entered a guilty plea on April 14, 2015.
According to court docu- ments, U. S. District Judge Charlene Honeywell sen- tenced Ms. Ronika Paris to three years in federal prison. The Court also entered a $17,979 money judgment against Ms. Paris, which was determined to be the pro- ceeds from filing fraudulent federal income tax returns. She was also ordered to pay restitution to the Internal Revenue Service in the amount of $70,873.
According to court docu- ments, Ms. Paris pleaded guilty to wire fraud, aggra- vated identity theft, and mak- ing false and fraudulent
statements to the U. S. De- partment of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
She is accused of obtain- ing and using the stolen iden- tifying information of more than 60 people to file false in- come tax returns and to open pre-paid debit cards.
The illegal activity report- edly began in May 2013 and continued until September 2013. Ms. Paris reportedly attempted to claim approxi- mately $446,554 in fraudu- lent refunds. Many of the victims whose identifications used were elderly and lived out of state, officials said.
Additionally, in February of 2013, Ms. Paris report- edly made false and fraudu- lent statements to HUD and the Tampa Housing Authority on her subsidized housing disclosure forms.
Third Murder Trial Of Dontae Morris To Begin

Five years ago, a Tampa man was arrested and charged with the murders of five people, including two Tampa Police officers. This will mark the third murder trial in which the man is charged.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office will at- tempt to seat a jury in the murder of Derek Ander- son. Anderson, 21, was the first person Dontae Rashawn Morris, 29, re- ported shot and killed after being released from prison on April 10,. 2010. Anderson was shot and killed on May 18th, at an East Tampa apart- ment complex.
Morris has been found guilty of the murder of Rod- ney Jones. Jones, 41, was shot outside of the Cotton Club in West Tampa on May

31, 2010. He was given a life sentence in that murder.
Morris was also con- victed of killing David Cur- tis, 31, and Jeffery Kocab, 31, both Tampa Police offi- cers, on June 29, 2010. He was given the death penalty in that trial.
Morris has also been charged with the shooting death of 25-year-old Harold Wright. Wright was shot and killed on June 8, 2010. No trial date has been set in that case.
Morris was the subject of the largest manhunt ever launched in Tampa, The re- ward for his capture after the murder of the two officers reached more than $100,000. He surrendered to police on July 10, 2010 and has been in jail since that time.
