Man Who Bought $102,024 SUV Used Stolen Identity
A 48-year-old man was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail on federal charges. He was ar- rested on February 24th as a result of an ongo- ing investigation.
According to federal investigators, Terrell Tramone Brown is accused of using another individual’s name and social security number last August to purchase a new vehicle. The ve- hicle was a Cadillac Escalade that costs $102,024. The purchase was made at Dimmitt Cadillac, in Clearwater, police said.
Officials said Brown’s photograph, along with the victim’s correct name, was found on a fake driver’s license. He used the same infor- mation when purchasing the vehicle, but the date of birth and other details on the loan ap- plication were different.
Brown is expected to enter a guilty plea on the charges on June 6th.
Law enforcement took notice of the vehicle in early February when Brown reportedly drove up to CellTech Mobile on Waters Avenue on February 3rd. The business was being staked out by police.
The business was being staked out because police suspected illegal activity by the owner. Investigators later said the business was a counterfeit credit card and fake identification plant.
When police executed a search warrant at the business, they confiscated a credit card embosser, a credit card encoder, a credit card foil tipping machine, counterfeit credit cards and stolen identity documents, including tax

and medical records. Police said there was also a blue photographic background mounted on an office wall.
The owner of the business, Johan Mar- tinez Blanco, knew the driver of the Escalade as “Tank,” police said.
Police obtained his true name after finding a photograph of “Tank” and identifying him through a facial recognition database, officials said.
Brown was charged with access device fraud and aggravated identity theft in refer- ence to the vehicle. Judge Anthony Porcelli ordered that Brown be held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail.
Brown still had possession of the Escalade at the time of his arrest.
