Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle - Four teenagers discover an old video game console(Jumanji) and are literally drawn into the game’s jungle setting, turning into the adult figures ( Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan) they choose to be. Action-packed but the storyline was weak. Hate to say it for a Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black film, wait for it on DVD. Did good at box office-Made $72M U.S./ foreign- $49M (budget-$90M)- **1/2
Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Director Rian Johnson starts the Last Jedi right where it left off with Rey (Daisy Ridley) struggling to get Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to train her and return back to the Resistance. Meanwhile, The Resistance ( Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher) prepares to do battle with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order. Definitely a must see for the Star Wars fans. Director Zack Snyder (The Man Of Steel, 300) did a great job keeping this action-packed thriller at a fast pace and the special effects were off the chain. The film features a special surprise that makes it worth going to see. Can't figure why this film received bad reviews, but it's a must-see for action fans. Roman J. Israel, Esq - A awkward, underpaid defense attorney (Denzel Washington) is hired by a law firm (Colin Farrell) to do the small cases. Israel finds himself in a bad situation that led to a series of deaths. I must admit this film wasn’t a typical Denzel Washington’s action film ,but I was amazed on how he memorized a lawyer’s legal language for this film. Will be shocked on how it ends. Enjoyed it for being dif- ferent. Made $11M (budget- $22M)- ****
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missour - A determined mother ( Oscar winning Frances Mc- Dormand- Fargo) challenges the local police (Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell) with billboards to solve her daughter’s murder when they fail to catch the culprit. If Your Birthday Is Today: You are sincere, helpful and loyal. You are resourceful and you have a strong sense of purpose. This is a year of building and creating solid foundations. You will want to simplify things to channel your energy in one direction. Exercise is important. Take up any physical discipline to help ground you. Hard work and effort will pay off this year!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Be patient with family members today, especially female family members. There’s no point in getting aggro about anything because what’s the point? Far better to keep the peace. Possibly, something else will interrupt your home routine this afternoon? Stay tuned.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): This is a mildly accident-prone day for your sign, so pay attention to everything you say and do. This applies most strongly in the afternoon. But if you slow down and are mindful, you won’t have to worry. Although, the power might go out. Whaaat? Again? (Are you shocked to learn that your ruler Uranus governs electricity?).
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): Keep an eye on your money today be- cause you might find money or you might lose money. Similarly, something that you own might be lost, stolen, broken or misplaced. Just keep your eyes open to minimize little headaches later. Like losing one beautiful leather glove. Aagghhh!
Aries (March 21-April 19): Don’t worry if you feel impulsive today but do be careful about acting rashly. The Moon is in your sign lined up with wild, wacky Uranus, which makes your emotions change quickly! It also makes you impatient with routine and eager to do something completely different.
Taurus (April 20-May 20): Today you feel vaguely restless. You might not even know why. (Do we ever know why we feel restless?) Don’t worry because this is a fleeting thing — primarily in the afternoon. Yes, you have that feeling you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. Just go with it. No worries.
Gemini (May 21-June 20): You might encounter an unusual situa- tion with a female companion today, especially in the afternoon. Perhaps someone you know will surprise you or do something unexpected. Or you might meet a character? Be careful you don’t say something you later re- gret.
Cancer (June 21-July 22): Personal details about your private life seem to be public today. In fact, when you learn this, you might be surprised. Something to do with your interaction or impact on parents, bosses and VIPs is occurring in an unusual way today, especially this afternoon. Keep your eyes open.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Travel plans will change or be interrupted today, especially this afternoon. Or perhaps, you will suddenly have to travel when you did not expect to do so? You might also learn something new, cap- tivating and unusual that’s related to politics, religion or anything in the media.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Keep an eye on anything related to shared property, inheritances and insurance today because something is unstable and unpredictable. Don’t be caught off guard because you’re napping. Dou- ble check your figures. Know what’s happening. Make friends with your bank account.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): A close friend or spouse might throw you a curve ball today. Something will happen in your relationship with someone close to you that is unexpected, especially this afternoon. It might give you greater freedom, or it might give them greater freedom? Get ready!
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Something will interrupt your work rou- tine today: computer crashes, power outages, fire drills, staff shortages, something. Just accept this and cope as best you can. It might be wise to give everything a little extra time so that you have wiggle room. (You just never know.).
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Parents should be extra vigilant today because this is a mildly accident-prone day for their kids. Meanwhile, you might receive an unexpected invite somewhere — or in turn, a social occa- sion might be suddenly canceled, delayed or changed. It’s a bit of a crap- shoot today.
