WILSON
MR. RICHARD LEE (WALTER) LING, JR.
Homegoing celebration for Mr. Richard Lee (Walter) Ling, Jr. will be held on Saturday, De- cember 30, 2017 at 1 p. m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Tampa, Florida, with Rev. Larry J. Mouton, Jr., Pastor, officiat- ing and Rev. Dr. T. W. Jenkins, Pastor Emeritus, Eulogist. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Richard Lee (Walter) Ling, Jr. was born in Garnett, SC on October 9, 1940 to the late Richard Ling, Sr. and Louise Johnson Ling. He was educated in the Garnett, SC public school system. Richard relocated to Tampa, FL, where he worked in the construction industry. He retired as Business Manager and Field Representative of La- borers’ International Union of North America. He also owned and operated a laundromat in the Ybor City area.
Richard was a faithful and active member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Hillsborough County, Inc., where he served on Usher Board #2 and most recently Usher Board #1, where he served as President until his health failed, but still being in uniform on 1st Sundays when his health permitted. Richard also served on the Food Bank Com- mittee and assisted the Deacons during devotion at the inception of the 7:45 a. m. worship serv- ice. He regularly attended Sun- day Church School, Prayer Meeting and Bible Study, and Sunday Worship Services. His steps were ordered by the Lord.
Richard loved a good com- edy, enjoyed sports, and has said that the only reason to have a TV was to watch sports. He spent his days either watching TV or milling about between his two sheds and utility room, fix-

Essie Mae Talley was born in Tallahassee, Florida on April 22, 1930. She attended public schools in Tallahassee, Florida. She moved to Coleman, Florida and married Roosevelt Talley. She later moved to Tampa, Florida where she worked for Lorellos Italian Restaurant for over 30 years. She was also the owner of Essie’s Restaurant, Gro- cery Store and a teenage place for young people to socialize.
She was a faithful member of Saint Luke A. M. E. Church for over 60 years. Sister Talley was a member of the Steward Board, the Young-at- Heart Ministry, Secretary of the St. Luke A. M. E. Mass Choir, faithful and commit- ted member of the St. Luke Culi- nary Department (her specialty was yellow rice).
There will be a viewing on Fri- day December 29, 2017 from 5 – 8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida.
Friends are asked to assemble at the church at approximately 12:45 p. m. Saturday for
the service.

He always did advance plan- ning and was always ahead of time for everything. He planned so well that on Friday, December 22, a bouquet of red and white roses and carnations with Christmas decorations was at the front door when Stella got home from the hospital after his death. Richard argued about very little and would not even have too much discussion about an issue. He was a man of quiet strength and will be missed dearly.
Richard peacefully transi- tioned to his Heavenly Mansion on Friday, December 22, 2017, while a patient at Florida Hospi- tal Tampa. He was surrounded by his wife, sons, and his Dea- con, William Ellison.
He was preceded in death by: both parents; sisters, Laura B. Shaw and Mary Alice Gaines; a brother, Ulysses Walter Ling; and a nephew, Charles Shaw.
Mr. Ling leaves to cherish memories with: his loving and devoted wife, Stella Louise New- som-Ling; step-‘grand’ daughter, Je’Maria Rihanna Newsom of the home; sister, Helen (Roger) Jenkins of New York; sons from his first wife (Sarah Etta Ling), who preceded him in death - Earl Wade Ling; Richard Walter (Karrie) Ling, III, of North Au- gusta, SC; Reginald Wayne (Sonovia) Ling of Kathleen, GA, to whom he spoke with daily; step-son, Leonard Anthony (Tedra) Whitcomb, Jacksonville, FL; and step-daughter, Lillian Doris Newsom, Kansas City, MO; grand children, Richard Ling, IV, Keiona Ling Fang, Sarah N. Ling, Reginald Ling and Sara L. Ling; step-grandchil- dren, Morgan Whitcomb, Maya A. Whitcomb, Leonard A. Whit- comb, II and Genessi C. Villa; niece, Cora Carter of New York, whom he spoke with daily; cousins, Anna Bell Bridgemon, Carrie M. (Willie) Corbett, Bertha Vickers of Tampa, FL, Rev. James Ling, Florence, SC and Gussie Jenkins (Linda); 10 great grandchildren; two step- great-grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
There will be a viewing on Friday, December 29, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church from 5-7 p. m. with the family present to receive friends from 6-7 p. m.

Sister Essie Mae Talley was preceded in death by her hus- band, Roosevelt Talley; mother, Henrietta Crawford; mother-in- law, Magnolia Nelson; brother, Phillip Bradwell; daughters, Annie Delinda Talley and Car- olyn Virginia Talley; grandsons, Andre Talley, Shannon Jermaine Wiggins and Jordie Lee; and spe- cial nephew, Barney Anderson.

Ms. Frances B. Williams was born on October 28, 1953 in Tampa, FL to the late Robert Lee and Maggie Mae Williams. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton Senior High School, Class of 1971. Ms. Williams was an em- ployee with Quest Diagnostics for 21 years. She was also a faith- ful member of Revealing Truth Ministries.
There will be a viewing on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 5-8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 North 29th Street, Tampa, FL, 33605 and from 10:30 – 11 a. m. Saturday at (the church) Revealing Truth Min- istries.
