Masonic Group Elects Illustrious Potentate, Other 2018 Officers

Recently, Harram Temple No. 23, Prince Hall Shriners, elected and appointed offi- cers for 2018.
The group of men elected James C. Holmes, a re- tired Navy man after 20 years of service, as its Illustrious Potentate.
A Tampa native who grew up in East Tampa, Holmes graduated from Chamberlain High School and attended Hillsborough Community College.
Holmes enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In addition to traveling around the world, he received numerous awards. In 1994, he received the Sailor of the Year Award while stationed at Amphibi- ous Base Coronado, CA; and he received the Military Ex- cellence Award from the Non-Commissioned Officers
Association.
While on active duty, he
attended Central Texas Col- lege and Vincennes Univer- sity Military Education Program. He retired from the Navy in 1999 after 20 years of service.
A 32nd degree Prince Hall Mason (Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret 32nd degree), he is very active and involved in his community. He is Past Master of Mt. Pleasant Lodge No. 13 Prince Hall Affiliated, and currently serves as the Lodge Instructor.
As the newly-elected Il- lustrious Potentate, Noble Holmes says his “goal is to lead by example and be in- volved in the community. He adds, his theme for 2018 is, McFadden and Whitehead’s “Ain’t No
Stoppin’ Us Now! We’re On The Move!”
The Temple awards seven $500.00 Watts Sanderson, Jr. Memorial Scholarships annually to selected and de- serving college/university bound students to include vocational/trade school stu- dents to help offset and de- fray any unexpected out of pocket expenses they may incur.”
