Praying Your Light Bill
Lord, I want to be a person who moves in Your power and whose prayers have the power to effect sig- nificant change in the world around me. Help me to always remember to live by the power of Your Spirit and not try to do things in my own strength. Show me how to use the keys You have given me to unlock and unleash Your power in prayer. Help me to pay the price for having the fullness of Your light, which is liv- ing our way. I don’t want to find myself walking in the dark because I wasn’t willing to pay the price for hav- ing the light.
He shall bring forth your righteousness a the light and your justice as the noonday. PSALM 37:6
Lord, I know that obedience to Your ways is some- thing You require of people who have Your light in them. Help me to turn away from any selfish claims to my own life in order to heed Your direction. Take any rebellion in me and expose it with Your truth. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23- 24). Lord, I choose this day to obey You because I know my life works best when I do. In the areas where obedience is hard for me, walk me through step by step. I don’t want to do anything that would dim the light You have for my path.
For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be ex- posed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.
Lord, I thank You that You paid the price for my salvation. Help me now to pay the price of obedience for the fullness of Your light and Your presence in my life. Reveal any area of disobedience in me. Keep me aware of the subtle influences that can pull me away from the narrow path. Show me the things in my life that compete with You for my attention and attempt to get me off course. Enable me to clearly know the way You are leading me so that I am always in the right place at the right time.
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate an difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. MATTHEW 7:13-14
