Patti LaBelle‘s sweet po- tato pies are flying off the shelves after a fan hit a high note last week while tasting the pie in a viral video.
“Thank you for calling Wal- mart, we’re out of the Patti LaBelle pie, how can I help you?” was the message a writer at the Washington Post re- ceived this weekend after call- ing the store, where the pies are sold for $3.48.
Walmart stores around the country have reported selling out of the pies in cities, includ- ing Los Angeles, Miami, and the singer’s hometown of Philadelphia as of Sunday af- ternoon.

posted a video Thursday of himself singing the diva’s hits, “If Only You Knew,” “You Are My Friend” and “On My Own,” while tasting the pie. The video has been viewed more than 7 million times on Facebook and more than 700,000 times on YouTube.
LaBelle reportedly called Chanel to thank him for the sweet review, and for inspiring legions of curious people to run out to buy the pie and test it for themselves. According to folks locally, the pies still have not been re-stocked.
Much of the online chatter about the recent spat between Vivica A. Fox and 50 Cent centered on how salacious it got.
Fox recently insinuated on Watch What Happens Live that her ex-boyfriend 50 Cent is gay. She said it with so much shade that it practically dimmed the lights on the set of the Bravo talk show.
But Aisha Tyler, a co-host at The Talk, argued that Fox used homosexuality as a way to take a jab at her former lover, and that's homophobic. She thinks that even if Fox does think the rapper is gay, outting an ex-lover that way is uncalled for.
"It shouldn't matter. It doesn't matter, but if he was
50 Cent and Vivica Fox back in 2003 when they were a cou- ple.
gay and he was struggling with his sexuality, the last person that should come out and rip him in public is somebody that he was in a relationship with," Tyler argued.
"That is so cruel and low. I just feel you shouldn't kiss and tell if you're a dude or if you're a woman," she continued.
