Victoria Harrison, a senior Psychology major at Bethune-Cookman University, was among 73 students named a 2016 White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (WHIHBCUs) All-Star last Friday.
Victoria was chosen from a pool of more than 300 students from 24 states, the District of Columbia, Ghana, Nigeria and the Virgin Is- lands. The All-Stars, comprised of undergrad- uate, graduate and professional students are being recognized for their accomplishments in academics, leadership, and civic engagement.
Harrison, a native of Tampa, also serves as B-CU’s “Miss UNCF,” president of the B-CU Pinky Promise Club, member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and the American Psychology Association, among oth- ers.
Harrison, a graduate of Tampa’s East Bay High School, is excited about this opportunity to be an extension of this White House Initia- tive.
“I can’t wait to learn and develop in this role. I am very proud to represent the great Bethune-Cookman University and the White House. As a first generation college student, this is another example of my dreams coming true,” says Victoria.
As an HBCU All-Star, Harrison is tasked with implementing outreach and communica-
