Mrs. Gwendolyn (Gwen) Myers will become one of the four At-Large Rep- resentatives. The purpose of the Health Care Advisory Board is to improve accessi- bility and efficiency of care for medically poor residents of Hillsborough County through recommendations to the Board of County Com- missioners for fund alloca- tion, coordination, planning and monitoring of health care delivery systems.

opened 24/7.
“In many cases the ill-
nesses that send uninsured people to the emergency room (ER) are preventable, but the financial cost to the individual or family is greater,” she explained.
Mrs. Myers retired from Hillsborough County in 2013 as a Human services Super- visor for the County’s Dept. of Family and Aging Serv- ices. Currently, she is Presi- dent and CEO of Gwen Myers Consulting, LLC.
Other Board appoint- ments are: Mayor Bob Buck- horn’s African American Advisory Board, and Corpo- ration to Develop Communi- ties of Tampa (CDC). She is a member of Greater Bethel MB Church, Chairman of the Trustee Ministry, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She is married to Ran- dolph Myers and the daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Williams and the late David Williams.
“I’m excited to continue my public service work,” she said.
