West Tampa Area Plagued By Burglaries

On Monday night at the Rey Park Recreational Cen- ter, the Old West Tampa Neighborhood Association held their meeting with pres- ident, Abeba Salter Woods, presiding.
Among the topics of discus- sion at the meeting was a problem with car and home burglaries in the area. A pair of representatives from the Tampa Police Department at- tended, and presented statis- tics to the group along with some advice.
“When you live in a tight community, it’s important everyone looks out for each other,” said Ms. Woods.
“Everyone knows when something seems out of place in their neighborhood, or a face that’s not familiar to any-

“Let the police come and decide what’s right and what’s wrong,” said Ms.

“We’ve got to work with law enforcement to keep our streets safe, and we have to be proactive in our approach to activities going on that aren’t normal.”
