Controversial Sheriff Decides Not To Take Homeland Security Job
Donald Trump is playing some serious politics at the ex- pense of Joanne Chesi- mard, otherwise known as Assata Shakur, the late Tupac Shakur’s godmother.
On Friday, Tupac’s birth- day, Trump demanded that Cuba return Chesimard to the U. S .so she can be re-im- prisoned after being convicted of killing a New Jersey cop.
During a speech in Miami to announce changes in U. S. pol- icy toward Cuba, Trump said the return of Chesimard and
other fugitives was one of sev- eral steps the Cuban govern- ment needed to take before the longstanding embargo could be lifted.
“To the Cuban government, I say, put an end to the abuse of dissidents, release the polit- ical prisoners, stop jailing in- nocent people, open yourselves to political and eco- nomic freedoms, return the fugitives from American jus- tice, including the return of the cop killer Joanne Chesi- mard,” Trump said.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke, Jr., you know the black man that loves to chide Black people, won’t be taking the assistant secretary position at the Department of Homeland Security.
“Late Friday, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, Jr. formally notified Secretary of Homeland Security, John F. Kelly that he had rescinded his acceptance of the agency’s offer to join DHS as an assis- tant secretary,” Craig Peter- son, an adviser to Clarke told the Washington Post.
“Sheriff Clarke is 100 per- cent committed to the success of President Trump and be- lieves his skills could be better

utilized to promote the presi- dent’s agenda in a more ag- gressive role.”
Clarke has been one of the most vocal Black voices in sup- porting President Donald Trump. According to the post, Clarke was gifted his role at DHS and was set to start in June, but Clarke “was ac- cused of plagiarism, and has drawn scrutiny for conditions in his jails that left one men- tally ill inmate dead,” the Post reports.
Clarke reportedly met with Trump in Wisconsin to dis- cuss other roles that he could be gifted inside the Trump administration.
“The sheriff is reviewing op- tions inside and outside of gov- ernment,” Peterson told the Post.
Missing Sailors Found On Damage Ship

President Donald Trump
has defied political norms ever since the start of his campaign two years ago. However his an- tics led to him becoming the nation’s 45th president.
However, President Trump’s approval rating, al- ways low by historical stan- dards, has been sliding since he took office in January.
Pres. Trump’s job per- formance wins approval from only 35% of the public, while 64% disapprove, according to a new poll released late last week from The Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Af- fairs Research.
That is one of the worst find- ings yet for Trump in any major survey.
The same poll found that 65% of Americans think their president has little or no re- spect for the nation’s demo- cratic institutions and

traditions.
Over the past week, amid re-
ports that Trump is under in- vestigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller for possible obstruction of justice, the Pres- ident unleashed Twitter barbs
at Hillary Clinton, the “fake news media” and fired FBI di- rector James Comey.
However, according to ABC, Special counsel Robert Mueller has not yet decided whether to investigate Presi- dent Donald Trump as part of a wide-ranging Russia probe, according to ABC News.
In a report on the outlet's Sunday show, "This Week," ABC News senior justice corre- spondent Pierre Thomas said his choice will be "mo- mentous."
On Friday morning, the President appeared to take aim at his own deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller after Comey’s firing.
“I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt,” Trump wrote.

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Divers found the bodies of missing sailors Sunday aboard the stricken USS Fitzgerald a day after it collided with a con- tainer ship in the busy sea off Japan, the Navy said.
Searchers gained access to the flooded spaces that were dam- aged during the collision and brought the remains to Naval Hospital Yokosuka where they will be identified, the Navy said in a written statement.
Japan's coast guard officials said the sea and air search was continuing at the site of the col- lision.
Two of the Fitzgerald's berthing areas were flooded after the collision, which oc- curred at 2:30 a.m. local time Saturday, a time when most of the crew would have been asleep.
At the ship's base in Yoko- suka, Japan, and elsewhere, relatives anxiously awaited news.
