Mother Mary E. May Celebrates 80th Birthday
Family and friends came together recently to celebrate and honor Mother Mary E. May on her 80th birthday. Guests at the party in- cluded the ladies of the ministry.
The party was planned and hosted by her daughter and goddaugh- ters, Joyce Baker, Rondalyn McCree and Sandra Stergen.
The dinner party was held at Dancing Motion Studio of the Arts in Tampa. A great time was had by all.
Mother May and her brother, Harry Sallet, Sr., of Gainesville, FL, who was in town for the celebration.
Clearwater Resident Assigned To USS Carl Vinson

Plant City Native Assigned To Manama, Bahrain Naval Base
PETTY THIRD CLASS VICTOR IRACHETA
Petty Third Class Victor Iracheta is currently assigned to the Naval Base in Manama, Bahrain, where he is assigned as a builder. He is part of a naval construction force.
The area where Third Class Iracheta is assigned to is considered one of the world’s most volatile regions. Members of the naval construction force provide support to U. S. and coalition forces operating throughout the 5th Fleet’s area of operation. The 5th Fleet’s area encompasses about 2.5 million square miles of water and includes the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Red Sea, and parts of the Indian Ocean.
Third Class Iracheta is a native of Plant City and a 2008 graduate of Durant High School.
Army Reservist Retires After 30 Years Of Service
Army Reserve Col. Ter- ence Smith recently retired asamemberoftheU.S. Army Reserve. Col. Smith served honorably for 30 years.
Col. Smith last served as Individual Ready Reserve at
Fort Knox, Kentucky.
He is a 1983 graduate of
Onteora High School, Boiceville, NY. He continued his education at the Univer- sity of Tampa, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in 2017.
Naval Captain Retires After 27 Years Of Service
After more than 27 years of active duty, Naval Cap- tain Michael J. Stiglitz, SC, USN, has announced his retirement. It will become ef- fective September 1, 2017.
After graduating Pinellas Park High School in 1986, he received his Bachelor’s De- gree at Georgia Tech, At- lanta, Georgia. Captain Stiglitz continued his educa- tion and earned his Master’s Degree at the University of Florida. He also completed the Advance Management Program at Columbia Busi- ness School.
He brings his career to a

Three Military Enlistees Complete Basic Training

Three enlistees into the U. S. Air Force with ties to the Tampa Bay Area have com- pleted all requirements and graduated from basic mili- tary training. All three partic- ipated in their respective graduation ceremonies.
Airman 1st Class Raul J. Garcia, Airman Amanda B. Sands, and Airman Deionne Williams attended gradua- tion ceremonies at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
During their training phase, the airmen completed an intensive, eight-week pro- gram that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core val- ues, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
They also earned four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree through the Community Col- lege of the Air Force.
Airman Garcia gradu- ated from Robinson High School in 2016.
AIRMAN DEIONNE WILLIAMS
Airman Sands is the daughter of Karen Sands- Pennerman, sister of Alexis Sands-Panther, and niece of Cheryl Sands, all of Orlando. She is also the mother of Noland.
She graduated from Mountain View High School, in Bend, Oregon.
Airman Williams is the son of Lindevia McCoy, of Orlando, and Roger Williams, of Tampa.
He graduated from May- nard Evans High School, in Orlando, in 2016.
