Venus: Serena Williams Has Great Opportunity To Complete Calendar Slam
Seven-time major winner Venus Williams said that her younger sister Serena has a big opportunity to complete a Calendar Slam at the US Open this year.
“I think her chances are good,” claimed Venus. “But it’s not just like at Wimbledon she went out and people gifted her with the matches, she earned it. She earned every single match, every single point, so I’m sure that it won’t be easy to win the Open."
Venus also spoke about other topics including the question on equal play for fe- male athletes. The American said that she would be very happy to work towards this cause “but I’m knee-deep in my own career, neck-deep re- ally.”

Glory Johnson and her for- mer spouse, Brittany Griner were married for less than 1 month.
Glory Johnson has filed documents asking for $20,000 a month in spousal support from her estranged wife, Brit- tney Griner.
Johnson, who is pregnant with twins, is also asking for $10,000 for attorney fees and for Griner to continue to make car payments towards a Mer- cedes she purchased for her.
The WNBA stars were mar- ried on May 8 and then both filed for an annulment on June 5. ESPN reports that Johnson filed this petition in response to one Griner filed when she looked to dissolve the marriage saying that neither side should be entitled to spousal support.
Johnson pointed out that because she is pregnant with twins she will not be able to play in the WNBA this season or overseas in the winter, leav- ing her in need of financial as- sistance.
She also claims to have no money after spending a major- ity of her savings on her wed- ding to Griner and IVF treatments.
Former FSU Star QB Apologizes To Whole World On GMA
DE’ANDRE JOHNSON And Mom
Former Florida State Uni- versity quarterback De'An- dre Johnson says he should have walked away from a bar brawl in which he punched a woman in the face, prompting his dismissal from the team.
Johnson made the admis- sion in his first interview since the incident that aired on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday morning.
De'Andre has been charged with misdemeanor battery in connection to the June 24 al- tercation inside a Tallahassee nightclub where a surveillance camera caught the freshman quarterback hitting a 21-year- old female FSU student in the face.
On July 6, the same day prosecutors released the footage showing the assault, FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher suspended and subse- quently dismissed Johnson from the team.
On Tuesday, a somber De'Andre Johnson, accom- panied by his mother, sat down with retired NFL player-
turned-talk show host Michael Strahan to discuss the brawl in an exclusive interview on GMA - his first since the incident.
When asked by Strahan why he did not leave the night- club after allegedly bumping into the victim, Johnson replied that he has no explana- tion for what happened.
'I totally should have walked away. I'm ashamed of that. I'm sorry,' Johnson said. 'I apol- ogize to the lady in the inci- dent, to her family, to my family, to my mother.
'I know I was not raised that way. If I could do it all over again, I would.'
Strahan inquired of John- son if he had been drinking that night, to which the 19- year-old replied, after a brief pause, that he was sober.
Addressing allegations that that 21-year-old co-ed was the aggressor in the violent con- frontation and that she pro- voked Johnson by hurling racial slurs at him, the former FSU quarterback firmly stated that it did not excuse his be- havior.
