DMX’s Non-Payment Of Child Support Lands Him In Jail For 6 Months
Toni Braxton has settled her child support battle with ex-husband, Mint Condition keyboardist, Keri Lewis. Braxton accused her ex of not paying child support for their 2 two sons, 11-year-old Denim and 10-year-old Diezel.
Braxton and Lewis tied the knot in Atlanta in April 2001. They announced their split in November 2009. Braxton’s personal and fi- nancial problems got worse in 2010. She filed for bankruptcy twice and was also diagnosed with lupus.
The six-time Grammy win- ner served her ex-husband with a child support contempt lawsuit last October 31, 2014 in Georgia Court. The con- tempt lawsuit sought to have a court order find that Lewis had not been paying the or- dered support, and to obtain an order to collect back child

On May 10th, Braxton filed docs in the case dismissing the lawsuit voluntarily. The dis- missal means that she and Keri reached a settlement outside of court. The case was closed the same day.
DMX
Rapper DMX has been sen- tenced to six months in an up- state jail for failing to pay child support.
The 44-year-old rapper, whose real name is Earl Sim- mons, was placed in the Erie County Holding Center in Buf- falo Tuesday, the Czounty Sher- iff’s Office said.
DMX was arrested right be- fore his scheduled performance at Radio City Music Hall on June 26 over several “issues outstanding,” authorities said.
Those “issues” included $400,000 worth of unpaid child support, a warrant issued by the city of White Plains for bail jumping and a robbery complaint out of Newark.
