Three Teenagers Face Gun, Burglary Charges

A Brandon woman was ar- rested last Thursday and charged in connection with a traffic accident that left three dead. The accident took place on the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Express.
In addition to the three DUI manslaughter charges, Ms. Amber Nicole Perera is also facing DUI with serious bodily injury, and hit and run failure to remain at the scene involving serious injuries or death.
The accident that claimed three lives of Luiz Felipak, 41, his wife, 29-year-old Rita Felipak, and their 8-year-old daughter, Giorgia. The acci- dent also involved several other vehicles.
It took place shortly after 4 p.m., nearly the W. Euclid en- trance.
According to the Tampa Police Department who inves- tigated the accident said Ms. Perera was driving a 2014 Kia “at a high rate of speed,” and attempted to pass at least two other vehicles traveling in the same direction.

Three Hillsborough County teenagers are facing gun and burglary charges. They were arrested in Polk County last week.
Key’Vis Atkins, 17, of Riverview, Marquel Ane- tus, 17, of Tampa, and 18- year-old Martel Nealey, of Riverview, are all facing sev- eral charges.
Atkins was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, resisting arrest with- out violence, violation of pro- bation, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also on probation for robbery with a firearm and a warrant for absconding. He has a curfew from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. He was transported to the Polk County Juvenile De- tention Center.
Anetus was charged with armed burglary, resisting ar- rest without violence, posses- sion of cannabis (under 20 grams), possession of para- phernalia, and possession of a firearm by a minor. He was
transported to the Polk County Juvenile Detention Center.
Nealey was transported to the Polk County Jail. He was charged with armed bur- glary of a dwelling, resisting arrest without violence, and two counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to the Winter Haven Police Department, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Thursday, a resident in the Normandy Heights subdivi- sion pulled into the commu- nity when he observed three males entering a pickup truck. The resident said he also observed the interior lights on in the truck and con- tacted police.
As he approached the truck, the three males started walking away. At that point, police arrived and the officers observed one male coming from a driveway of one of the homes. The male ran after po- lice ordered him to stop.

The pilot kept eye contact on the men and directed a K9 Unit to a nearby mobile home park, where the officers ar- rested two of the suspects. One of them had a gun holster inside his waistband.
Police located the third suspect a short distance away, hiding inside a trash can.
During the search of the area, police found two hand- guns that had been reported stolen out of Hillsborough County. They found a third handgun in the yard of one of the homes near a pool.

struck by a Jeep, driven by Ms. Tracy Lee Kelly, 43, and an Infiniti SUV, driven by Jerry Lamberti, 20, of Brandon. Ms. Kelly was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Lam- berti did not report any in- juries to police.
The Hyundai burst into flames and came to rest on the embankment along the west- bound lanes. All three people died at the scene.
The driver of the Kia, Ms. Perera, fled the scene after the crash without rendering help to the injured. She was later located and taken into custody. Police said Ms. Per- era exhibited signs of impair- ment at the time of her arrest.
Ms. Perera was trans- ported to a local hospital after the accident. Police said while at the hospital, she attempted to hide the vials of blood that had been drawn from her as evidence related to the DUI in- vestigation. She was also charged with tampering with evidence, police said.
