MRS. PATRICIA ‘PAT’ GRAY
A celebration of life serv- ice for Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Gray, who broke the bonds of mortal life and sickness and gently slipped into God’s hands on Sunday, January 10, 2016, will be held on Sat- urday, January 23, 2016, at 11 a. m. at the Rivers of Life Church, 301 Lakewood Dr., Brandon, FL, Rev. Curtis Swafford, pastor, with Rev- erend Tommy Neal, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery.
The legacy she leaves behind through her in- fluence, encouragement and love will forever live through the lives of: her husband, Melvin Gray of Windsor Locks, CT; devoted daugh- ters, LaShawn (Levester) Jones, and Diamond Hamlet of Hartford, CT; six step- children; nine step grand- children; siblings, Sharon O. Haywood, Reginald Moore, Gail E. Moore, Algeron John- son and Melton Johnson and wife, Reneitha; 14 nieces and nephews, Reginald Bell (Carmelita), Dwayne Wal- lace, Connie Moore, Natasha Stallings, Shirley Moore, Tiffany Brown, Reginald Moore, Desmond Barrows, Regina Moore, Renaldo Williams, Reneesha John- son, Keenan Johnson, RaVon Bullard and Courtney Johnson; 36 great nieces and nephews; 5 great great nephews; devoted aunt, Veola Williams; goddaugh- ter, Erica Johnson; sisters and brothers of the heart, Delorius Lester and hus- band, Roosevelt, and Moses Moore and wife, Margaree; in-laws, George Gray of Vir- ginia, Yvonne Dickerson, Marvin Gray and wife, Mar- garite of Georgia, John Gray and wife, Mary, and Mildred Williams of Connecticut; special friends, Josephine Brady, Elaine Johnson, Frankie Nelson, Linda Hodges and Naomi Harrison of Orlando, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends in Tampa and Connecticut.
“Pat” as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, was a native of Tampa, born on October 25, 1948 to the late Leroy and Ernestine Johnson.
She attended the local schools of Hillsborough County, graduating in 1966; after which she attended the Business University of Tampa. Her thirst for knowl- edge continued after moving to the state of Connecticut, where she earned a Masters of Education Degree from Cambridge University in Au- gust 2001.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 5-8 p. m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home and the family
will receive friends from 6-7 p. m. in the chapel.
Friends are asked to as- semble at the church on Sat- urday at approximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.

MR. LORRIE ‘LARRY’ UNDERWOOD
A celebration of life serv- ice for Mr. Lorrie Under- wood, a.k.a., “Larry” will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd., Tampa, 33619, Dr. Samuel Maxwell, pastor, with Rev. Wallace Z. Bowers, officiat- ing. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Underwood was born on March 4, 1934 in Dothan, Alabama, to the parentage of the late Adell Reese Under- wood and Solomon Under- wood.
He moved to Tampa in 1959, lived in Progress Vil- lage and was one of the founding members of First Baptist Church of Progress Village, under the founding Pastors, the late Reverend B. T. Williams, and the late Rev. Roosevelt Robinson, Jr.
After serving in the Army in Korea as a Medic, he relo- cated to Tampa, in 1959. He began working at Lykes Brothers and eventually re- tired from GAF Cooperation in 1996 after 30 devoted years of service. He also had special interests in Real Es-
tate, Reflexology, and work- ing at various barbershops with the enjoyment of cutting hair. He also attended Tampa Business School, Bar- ber College and the School of Theology.
On Friday January 15, 2016, he departed this earthly life and peacefully passed on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by: a devoted wife, Montest Thomas Underwood; a brother, Willie Jean Under- wood; three sisters, Frankie Helms, Elsie Streeter and Yvonne Porter; and grand- son, Preston T. Jones.
He leaves to cherish mem- ories of him: 5 loving chil- dren, Larry Underwood, St. Petersburg, FL, Lorrice (Michael) Jones, San Anto- nio, TX, Jerry (Arnitrice) Un- derwood, Tampa, Carolyn Underwood Fogg, Jackson, MS, and Lauretta (Andrew) Johnson, Tampa; 11 grand- children, Cherie (Jose) Soto, Christin Underwood, Hollis (Tiffany) Davis, Shaina (Xavier) West, Treyvontae Jones, Jerivona Underwood, Derrick Hunter, D’Raey Fogg, Cahlen Fogg, Skylaar Johnson, and Kyndal John- son; 4 great grandchildren, Maya, Lola, Jaiden and Kingston; brother, Ben (Eula) Underwood of De- troit, MI; goddaughter, Dre- neen Williams-Knight; longtime neighbors and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark, and Mrs. Louise Goff; and a host of loving and ded- icated nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Under- wood will be held Friday evening from 5-7 p. m., with special visitation with family between 7-8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 North 29th Street, Tampa.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at approximately 10:45 a. m., Saturday for the service.

Funeral service for Mrs. Georgia Mae Henry Owens of Tampa, who passed away on January 15, 2016 will be held on Saturday January 23, 2016,at11a.m.atNew Bethel Progressive Mission- ary Baptist Church, 3011 E. A native of Arlington, Georgia, Mrs. Owens was a resident of Tampa since 1942. She was educated in the local schools in Calhoun County, Georgia, and was a graduate of Edison High School in Edison, Georgia, where she was a talented, skilled basketball player.
She was a community ac- tivist in the East Tampa area and was the longest serving member of the East Tampa Civic Association.
Mrs. Owens was a faithful member of New Bethel Pro- gressive M. B. Church for over sixty-five years and served on numerous auxil- iaries until her demise. She was also a long-standing member of the Guiding Star Chapter #82, serving as Wor- thy Matron for many years.
There will be a viewing on Friday January 22, 2016 from 5-8 p. m. with the fam- ily receiving friends from 5-6 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
