MR. LEE BROWN
Mr. Lee Brown of Tampa, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33606, with Pastor Donald Lott, officiating. MASK RECOMMENDED. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Av- enue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Mr. Brown was a native of Jef- ferson County and a resident of Tampa for 80 years. He attended the Hillsborough County Public Schools. He was employed as a Truck Driver at Sexton Valenti Pro- duce.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: his loving and devoted daugh- ter, Valencia; sons, George, and Sammy; daughter, Sherry; grand- daughters, Symone, Jaya and Ar- genette; great, grandchildren, Tameya and Jovahn; and niece, Sabrina.

Homegoing services for Mr. James Jenkins, aka ‘JJ,’ who de- parted this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, will be held Saturday, April 16 at 1 PM at New Hope Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St., Tampa, FL 33610, with Apostle William K. Wynn, pastor of Tabernacle of Praise Church in Orlando, Florida, eulogist; Rev. Sherman Mungin, officiating. In- terment will be in Rest Haven Me- morial Park, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
Mr. James Jenkins, a.k.a. ‘JJ,’ was born on January 3, 1942 in Adel, Georgia to the late Jessie and Rosa Lee Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins accepted Christ at an early age and became a mem- ber of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Adel, Georgia. He later joined New Hope Missionary Bap- tist Church in Tampa, Florida. He was a retiree of Tampa Tribune after 15 years and the City of Tampa Water Department after 28 years. Mr. Jenkins was also a well-known DJ in the Tampa area.
He was preceded in death by: 6 brothers, Marvin ‘MJ’ Jenkins, Willie ‘WT’ Jenkins, Leroy Jenk- ins, Napoleon Jenkins, Jessie Jun- ior Jenkins, and Billy Mose; 4 sisters, Rosie Mae Perry, Fannie Lou Covington, Emma Hall, and Lavern Covington.
Mr. Jenkins leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his lov-
ing and devoted wife of 43 years, Mrs. Pree Etta Jenkins; 3 daugh- ters, Endella (Stacy) Jenkins, Ariel Jenkins, and Avassar Jenk- ins, all of Tampa; 2 sisters, Mary Grammage of Tifton, Georgia, and Martha (Samuel) Wilson of Sparks, Georgia; 8 grandchildren Datiana Soloman, Theron Speights, Junior, Jermaine Col- bert, Junior, Jaquan Colbert, Jakya Jenkins, Rah’King Parkler, Kalasija Adams, Demarcus Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; bonus chil- dren Henry (Christina) Hampton, Tony (Lucy) Hampton, Shanda (Tommy) Porter, Michael (Shawn) Hampton, and Amanda Spivey; 3 godsons, Charles Stevenson, Patrick Upshaw, and Antonio Keaton; 4 goddaughters, Marilyn Henry, Samantha Heflen, Luciana Worth and Pamela Clem- mons; like sisters, Emma Miller, Betty Jenkins, Pearlene (Tommy) Welch, Sharon (Andy) Mason and Wanda Clemmons and family; special friends, Ryan Crawford, James Slater, Leon Stokes, Rufus (Rudin) McGee, Briana Woods, and Annetten (Johnny) Jackson, Shirley Ann, Betty and Richard Lee, Bernice (Robert), Willie (Sherea) Jefferson, Pete Murray, Joseph Grand Daddy Spencer, Charles Thomas, The Friday night dominoes and poker crew, Ernest Knight, Henry family, Coley fam- ily, House family, Harris family, Colbert family, Green family, Woods family, Reese Group Home, Williams family, Martin family and Carver family; a host of other family friends, neighbors and coworker,; Roy and Pine No- bles; John Billingsley, the Gay family, and the Hopkins family.
Visitation and wake for Mr. James Jenkins will be held this Friday from 4 PM until 8 PM at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. The family will join friends at the church on Friday from 7pm to 8pm. Friends are asked to be present at the Home- going ceremony at 12:45 p. m. on Saturday at the church. A facial protection covering is required to attend.

DEACON CHARLES B. GILBERT, JR.
Deacon Charles B. Gilbert, Jr., of Tampa, FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, Tampa, FL 33607, Reverend T. D. Leonard, Pastor with Minister William Cade, Officiating. MASK RECOM- MENDED. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
Deacon Gilbert, Jr., was a na- tive of Marianna, FL, and a resi- dent of Tampa for 59 years. He was a member of Mount Tabor Mis- sionary Baptist Church.
Deacon Gilbert, Jr., was born on February 5, 1944, in Marianna, FL to Mr. Charles B. Gilbert, Sr., and Louise Gilbert. At a young age, he accepted the Lord as his Savior. He attended Jackson County Train- ing School, graduated in 1962, and came to Tampa from Marianna after graduation.
In Tampa, he met Altamease and later married her on July 17, 1966, and to this union three beau- tiful children were born. He worked as a Crane Operator for 30 plus years at David J. Joseph Steel Company.
He came to Mount Tabor Mis- sionary Baptist Church in October 1964. Later in life, he became a Deacon. Deacon Gilbert, Jr., was a strong, hard-working, dedicated family man who loved the Lord with all his heart and with all his mind. He kept his mind stayed on the Lord until the very end.
Deacon Gilbert, Jr., was pre- ceded in death by: his parents, and two nephews, Mr. Edward Sims and Mr. Darrell Gilbert.
He leaves to cherish his memo- ries: his devoted wife of 55 years, Mrs. Altamease Gilbert; sons, Mr. Charles R. Gilbert and Mr. Dennis A. Gilbert; daughter, Mrs. Wendy L. Woodard (Derrick); grandchil- dren, Mr. Timothy Silas, Ms. Ta’Laya Gilbert, Mr. Randall Gilbert, Ms. Anna Silas, Ms. Brook- lyn Gilbert, Ms. Paisley Woodard and Mr. Parker Woodard; great, grandchild, Mr. Ja’Quari Spencer; siblings, Mrs. Gertrude Sims, Mr. Willie Gilbert, Ms. Lucille Gilbert and Mrs. Vera James (Charles) and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers- in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended families and friends. Special thanks to Mrs. Barbara Silas, Ms. Shaunda Silas, Mrs. Lil- lie Nichols, and Ms. Pathenia Gilbert.

Mrs. Jordan was a native of Alexandria, Louisiana, and a res- ident of Tampa for 25 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory with: her husband, Larry Jordan; daughters, Bridget Cooper, Kayla Jordan, and Jes- sica Jordan; son-in-law, E.J.
