COMMENTS: Latoya Bryant had several years of classroom teaching experience in both traditional and magnet middle schools prior to becoming a reading coach. She currently splits her time between two of Hillsborough County’s highest performing career centers; South County Career Center whose graduation rate in- creased by 33% and Simmons Career Center which had the highest number of graduates.
As a reading coach, she works closely with faculty to facilitate site-based profes- sional development, co-plan and co-teach lessons, and model and demonstrate effec- tive strategies all aimed at in- creasing students’ performance in literacy for college and career.
