WR Anthony Kelly Signs With Tampa Bay Bucs
Club Is Division II Champions
Anthony Kelly never gave up on his dream to play in the National Football League.
After a stellar career at NCAA Division II Kutztown University, the 2011 Pottsville Area High School graduate kept training, kept working, always striving to achieve his goal.
Saturday, the dream got a lot closer to reality.
The 23-year-old wide re- ceiver signed a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers mo- ments after the 2016 NFL Draft concluded in Chicago.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder arrived in Tampa to partici- pate in the Buccaneers’ rookie minicamp.
Looking ahead, the Bucca- neers open their preseason schedule Thursday, Aug. 11, in Philadelphia against the Ea- gles.
“It feels great,” Kelly said Saturday night. “I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. I always thought I could be here, but now that I’m here ... it hasn’t sunk in yet.
“Words can’t describe how I feel. I’m excited to get started and play football again.”
Kelly hauled in 97 passes for 1,406 yards and 22 touch-

downs in his four-year career at Kutztown, collecting 34, 28 and 28 receptions over his final three years.
He had 28 catches for 437 yards and seven touchdowns this season for the Bears, who finished 7-4 overall. In his final two games with Kutz- town, Kelly caught five passes for 112 yards and two TDs in a Nov. 7 win over Ship- pensburg, then had five catches for 97 yards and a score against Clarion.
Kelly graduated from Kutztown in December with a degree in criminal justice.
Kelly attended the re- gional combine Feb. 27 at the Under Armour Performance Center in Baltimore. There he dazzled scouts with a 4.40 time in the 40-yard dash, a 42-inch vertical jump and by bench-pressing 225 pounds 23 times.
Patriots Have Invested Significant Draft Capital At QB Position
Chris Bosh Declared Out For Remainder Of Heat Postseason
CHRIS BOSH

Bosh will not return to play this season because of an un- specified medical issue that has kept him out since the All-Star break, the team an- nounced Wednesday.
The Heat and Bosh made the joint announcement one day after the National Bas- ketball Players Association urged Bosh and the team to resolve his status.
"The Heat, Chris, the doc- tors and medical team have been working together throughout this process and will continue to do so to re- turn Chris to playing basket- ball as soon as possible," the Heat said in a statement.
The 11-time All-Star had expressed a desire to return to action after missing the last 29 games of the regular season and Miami's first- round victory over Charlotte. It's the second consecutive year Bosh's regular season has ended because of a injury detected over All-Star week- end.
In two of the last three years, the New England Pa- triots have used significant draft-pick capital at the quarterback position, with Jimmy Garoppolo in the 2014 second round (No. 62 overall) and Jacoby Bris- sett in the 2016 third round (No. 91 overall).
Some believe it is good business to draft quarter- backs annually given the im- portance of the position, and the Patriots are balancing that line of thinking with a few other factors.
Tom Brady turns 39 on Aug. 3 and he's successfully fought off Father Time to this point, which the team hopes remains the case well into his 40s. But Bill Be- lichick and Co., naturally want to be well prepared if things change suddenly, sort of like what happened with Peyton Manning in 2015.
Then, as Belichick noted

Saturday night, there's an as- pect of future planning in- volved. Garoppolo's contract expires after the 2017 season and the team needs to groom his potential replacement should he de- part in free agency or a trade has merit.
"There's always an ele- ment of team planning, es- pecially at that position," Belichick said. "If you can, you try to look ahead a little bit. If you can't, then take it as it comes."
Record-Setting
3-Point Barrage
LeBron James admits he has thought of a potential re- union with the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference fi- nals.
Well, he and the Cleveland Cavaliers are two steps away from returning to the confer- ence finals after they buried the Atlanta Hawks, 123-98, in Game 2 underneath a record- setting avalanche of 3-point- ers.
Cleveland drilled a dizzy- ing 18-of-27 treys in the first half alone to break the NBA record for most 3-pointers made in a half. They would finish with 25 of 45 3-point- ers for the game (55.6 per- cent), setting the NBA record for most 3-pointers made in a game, playoff or regular sea- son.
At first, the Cavs broke down the Hawks' defense with penetration and finding wide-open 3-point shooters. But the Cavs were so hot, it didn't matter if they were open or not.
J.R. Smith knocked down 3-pointers with a man in his

face and some falling back- ward off-balanced. Smith drilled six of his first 10 3- point attempts in the first half and finished with seven treys and 23 points. Ten Cavaliers players made a 3-pointer in the game.
James, who improved to 10-0 lifetime against the Hawks in the postseason, had 27 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
Atlanta's Kyle Korver said part of the Hawks' plan was to make James take out- side shots. James knocked down 4-of-6 3-pointers, though, with one of his missed attempts coming on a heat check 3 from the edge of the Cavaliers' half-court logo.
