Huge Crowds Turn Out For Tampa Bay Black Heritage Street Festival

Glenda Coleman, Toni Sheperd and Marva ‘Tina’ Hair brought their chairs and blankets to enjoy the festival.
Cedric Moss, Lenore Moss, Andre’ Steadman and Kimberly Steadman had fun at the festival.
Christine Copeland, Mikena McCray, Karen Hilton and Felecia Harvey were also in the park for the festival.
Gloria Durham, Jan Glenn, Rosemarie Flores, Denise Flores and Reken Hudson enjoyed the 2-day event.
FREE Income Tax Preparation
Hillsborough Community College (HCC) will serve again as a host site for the VITA Free Income Tax Preparation Service. The service will be offered at both its Dale Mabry and Brandon Campuses during this year’s tax season.
The service is open to any households with income under $53,000 and in- cludes free preparation and e-filing. The event is spon- sored by the Dale Mabry Campus chapter of the Fu- ture Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL).
The service began at the Dale Mabry Campus on Fri- day, January 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. It is being
offered in the Social Sci- ences Building (DSSC), room 204.
The Brandon Campus will offer the service beginning on Friday, February 5, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Stu- dent Services Building (BSSB), room 201.
Last year, 570 tax returns were prepared at the Dale Mabry Campus, resulting in a total of $709,501 in total refunds, while the Brandon Campus prepared 107 tax returns, resulting in $126,691 in total refunds.

The Hillsborough County Extension, 5339 County Road 579, in Seffner, is of- fering free tax preparation assistance for individuals or families with Adjusted Gross Incomes (AGI) of $62,000 or less. The 2015 AGI can be found on line 37 of the Form 1040 tax re- turn.
AGI does not include money contributed to tax deductible retirement plans or certain other adjust- ments.
The Extension Office of- fers tax filers access to a self-guided tax preparation
program, and one-on-one assistance from IRS trained and certified volunteers.
Appointments for the free service are required, and may be made for the follow- ing times:
Feb.2,3,and4from9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Feb. 9 through April 7 on Tuesdays and Thurs- days from 2 to 7 p.m.
