Police Investigate Reported Attempted Armed Robbery, Attempted Murder
Police Search
Man Faces More Than 100 Charges For Car Burglaries
Temple Terrace Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery and attempted murder that occurred Sunday night.
At 10:54 p. m. on January 31st police received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a shooting in the 5200 block of Serena Drive.
Police said two men had ap- proached a resident in front of his home as he was unloading groceries. The suspects report- edly grabbed the victim, and one of them pointed a gun at him.
The victim grabbed the sus- pect’s gun and a brief struggle began. The victim drew his own firearm and exchanged gunfire with the suspects. The suspects then fled west on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries. It is unknown if the victims were injured.
The suspects are described as Black males wearing black, and one of them was armed with a silver handgun.

A 20-year-old man is fac- ing more than 100 charges in connection with multiple car burglaries. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on January 1, the owners of 39 vehicles reported their vehi- cles had been broken into and property taken. The suspect reportedly broke the windows of the vehicles to gain entry.
The thefts took place in the Lake Lucerne Apartment Complex in Brandon.
Four days later, on January 5th, residents in the College Chase Subdivision in Ruskin reported ten vehicles had been entered and property taken. In that case, the vehicles had been left unlocked.

Tampa Police Officer Injured After Crash
Tampa Police are asking for help on a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist injured Tuesday night.
Police said the incident oc- curred at Rome and Sligh Av- enues just before 9 p. m. A witness reported that a red pickup truck hit the motorcy- cle, then continued to travel north on Rome Avenue.
The motorcyclist was hospi- talized and is reported to be in stable condition.

Warrant Issued For Man Who Attacked Stepson

A warrant has been issued for a Winter Haven man who attacked his stepson with a knife last Thursday.
Jeremie Pierre, 53, is wanted on charges of at- tempted second-degree mur-
der. Police said at 11 p. m., Tavarus Harrison, 21, en- tered their home at 1841 3rd Street Northwest, then got into an argument that led to Pierre attacking him with a knife.
The victim fled the home and called police. Pierre fled before they arrived.
Harrison received a deep cut to both of his hands and a bite mark on his forearm. He was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening in- juries and released.
Pierre is described as a Black male, 5’6” tall, and was previously arrested in Polk County for aggravated assault, felony battery, resisting arrest with violence and marijuana possession.

The investigation into the burglaries is continuing.
On Saturday night, a Tampa Police officer suffered minor injuries when he tried to catch up to a car that was reported stolen.
Police said there was a car- jacking Friday night. The vehi- cle was later involved in three robberies in the area.
At 9 p. m. Saturday, an officer spotted the vehicle and tried to catch up to it, but lost control and crashed into a pole near Central Avenue and Lake Av- enue.
Police said there was no pur- suit, and the injured officer will be alright.

On Thursday, a 16-year-old was arrested in connection with the January 1st death of a Lakeland man.
David Irvin of Winter Haven was charged with sec- ond-degree murder, robbery with a firearm, and armed bur- glary with assault and battery.
On New Year’s Day, dep- uties responded to a call of a shooting at a home in the 2000 block of Chestnut Hills Drive. When they arrived, they found Chevez Faison, 24, dead.

homeowner, who told detec- tives he believed Faison was not alone and another person had entered the residence.
During the investigation, detectives discovered Ray- mond Young, 32, had driven Faison and Irvin to the home and left. They also learned Young returned later and picked up Irvin.
Records show Young was arrested January 12th on charges of second-degree murder, robbery with a firearm, and armed burglary with assault and battery.
Irvin was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail.
Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s detectives are searching for two teenagers who escaped from the Falkenburg Academy.
At 10:35 a. m. Sunday, au- thorities were notified of the escape that occurred at 9:15 a. m. It appears Anthony Bays, 18, and Anthony Cook, 17, along with others, were allowed recreation time in an outside fenced yard. At 9:20 a. m., a staff member noticed some of the teenagers looking toward the fence. At the same time, staff members notice two teenage males were missing.
A closer inspection revealed
a hole had been cut in the chain link fence. A head count was done, and it was confirmed they were missing. At the time of Bays and Cook’s escape, they were wearing green shirts and blue pants. Both were being held on grand theft auto charges.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for in- formation that will lead to the location and arrest of the two escaped teenagers. Anyone with information regarding this case and who wants to be eligi- ble for a cash reward, is asked to call 1-800-873-8477.
