Michael Vick's Outspoken Brother
Brandon Marshall Doesn't Address Civil Suit At Manhattan Gala
BRANDON MARSHALL
New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who re- ceived a humanitarian award Tuesday night at a Manhattan gala, began his day in a federal court room, accused of punch- ing a woman in the face.
Marshall declined to ad- dress the civil trial, which is expected to last a few more days. Christin Myles, 28, a former San Diego State bas- ketball player, testified that Marshall assaulted her out- side a Manhattan nightclub in 2012.
The woman broke down several times on the stand, saying Marshall inflicted "ex- cruciating pain." A police in- vestigation at the time resulted in no criminal charges. Myles is seeking unspecified dam- ages.
Ben Roethlisberger Sheds 15 Pounds
Charged With Assaulting Police Officer
Thanks To 'High Cardio' Workouts
Marcus Vick – whose older brother, Michael Vick, starred at Virginia Tech, was the No. 1 pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, and just finished his 13th NFL season – was arrested Sunday and charged with assaulting a po- lice officer in Newport News, Va.
Trouble started when an officer tried to arrest Vick, 32, on an outstanding war- rant for contempt of court in Montgomery County, Va. Vick allegedly pushed the of- ficer and ran when the officer approached him inside a business.

Vick is charged with one
count each of resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, de- struction to property and felony assault on a law en- forcement officer. He is being held in the Newport News City Jail.
Ben Roethlisberger
showed up a University of Pittsburgh practice last week and the big takeaway was that the Steelers' quarterback looked slimmer than ever.
According to Roethlis- berger's agent, Ryan Toll- ner, the 34-year-old quarterback has shed at least 15 pounds thanks in part to a "high cardio" workout.
"He couldn't really work out because he kept getting hurt," Tollner said. "I think

he said after the season, you know what, I'm going to lose weight to alleviate potential pain in my joints."
Draymond Green: 'Talking 82 Games, We Get Bored With That After Awhile'
Smith Despite Suspension
Raiders Re-Sign Aldon
Following Golden State's stunning 124-117 overtime loss to the Minnesota Tim- berwolves on Tuesday night, Warriors forward Dray- mond Green conceded the team had at least gotten dis- tracted by the possibility of winning 73 games and said the Warriors are ready for the regular season to be over.
Asked whether the War- riors had gotten caught up in the hype of possibly setting an NBA record for wins in a season, Green responded, "Honestly? Yes." Then he corrected, "I wouldn't neces- sarily say caught up in the hype."
Green also said the War- riors are ready for this partic- ular segment of the season to finish.
"It's human nature to where, all right, kind of ready
DRAYMOND GREEN
for the regular season to end," Green said. "Talking 82 games, we get bored with that after awhile."
Green continued, "Now, saying that, we got to be a better enough ballclub to continue to try to get better with these games and try and go into the playoffs the right way and not stumble in the playoffs, so, think that's something we have to focus on. We got to try to finish out this regular season strong."
The Raiders' resurgent off- season spiked again on Mon- day. This time, they've agreed to a deal that'll boost their al- ready upgraded pass rush.
The Raiders are bringing back Aldon Smith. The Raiders later announced the move.
Smith is a menace on the field. He's managed to rack up 47.5 sacks in 59 career games. Though he recorded just 3.5 sacks a year ago, he wasn't in- effective.
At 26 years old, Smith -- if he can remain on the field -- has a chance to become a

pass-rushing mainstay. The idea of pairing him alongside Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin, even if it's just for half a season, should be terrifying for Philip Rivers, Alex Smith, and whoever the heck ends up as the Broncos' start- ing quarterback.
Kaepernick Willing To Take Pay Cut, But There's Still One Huge Issue
The trade saga involving Colin Kaepernick and the Denver Broncos seems to have a new twist every day.
The 49ers quarterback is actually willing to take a pay cut to help make a trade hap- pen. However, there's still one huge issue: the amount of the pay cut.
Although it was initially be- lieved that the Broncos wanted Kaepernick to take a $4.9 million pay cut, appa- rently the number is actually bigger than that. According to CSN, the Broncos want Kaepernick to agree to a re- structured deal that would pay him $7 million in both 2016 and 2017, which would be a huge loss for Kaeper- nick.
Kaepernick has a guar- anteed salary of $11.9 million in 2016, so if he agreed to the Broncos' new deal, that would mean a $4.9 million loss for the upcoming season, which was previously reported.
COLIN KAEPERNICK
In 2017 though, Kaeper- nick would take a bigger loss in Denver: His base salary is scheduled to be $14.5 million, which means he would be taking a $7.5 million pay cut for 2017 if he were to agree to the Broncos' proposed deal.
The 49ers quarterback is willing to take a slight pay cut, but he's not willing to lose out on $12.4 million (or $16.4 million).
Kaepernick "made his statement" when he left Den- ver on Sunday to fly to the Bay Area so he could attend San Francisco's offseason workouts.
