Anthony Edwards Apologizes For Homophobic Comments In Viral Video
    Out Against Punishment
For Suns Owner
Anthony Edwards is is- suing an apology over a re- cent video where he used homophobic language.
The Minnesota Timber- wolves star Edwards posted a video to his Instagram Story over the weekend in which he made derogatory comments about a group of men standing on a sidewalk. At one point in the video, Ed-
Dwight Howard Lands New Reality TV Gig
DWIGHT HOWARD
You will still be able to see Dwight Howard competing on television this year ... just on a different channel.
The Hollywood Reporter
revealed this week that the ex- NBA Defensive Player of the Year Howard will be one of 16 celebrities competing on a new FOX reality TV show — “Special Forces: The Ultimate Test.” The competitors will un- dergo “intense military-style training” as they take on a number of challenges overseen by several ex-military opera- tives.
The show will premiere in January and is also set to fea- ture other sports figures like retired former soccer star Carli Lloyd and MLB catch- ing great Mike Piazza.
wards used an anti-gay slur. After the video went viral, Edwards apologized in a Twitter post. He wrote, “What I said was immature, hurtful, and disrespectful, and I’m incredibly sorry. It’s unacceptable for me or any- one to use that language in such a hurtful way, there’s no excuse for it, at all. I was
raised better than that!”
LeBron James spoke out via Twitter on Wednes- day to voice his dissatisfac- tion with the punishment for Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver.
Sarver was the target of a workplace misconduct in- vestigation. The league con- cluded its investigation and on Tuesday announced pun- ishment for Sarver. The 60- year-old owner was suspended one year and fined $10 million.
James expressed his un- happiness via Twitter.
“Read through the Sarver stories a few times now. I gotta be honest...Our league definitely got this wrong. I don’t need to ex- plain why. Y’all read the sto- ries and decide for yourself. I said it before and I’m gonna say it again, there is no place in this league for that kind of behavior. I love this league and I deeply respect our leadership. But this isn’t right. There is no place for misogyny, sexism, and racism in any work place. Don’t matter if you own the team or play for the team.

   LEBRON JAMES
We hold our league up as an example of our values and this aint (sic) it,” James wrote.
Sarver was found to have used the N-word at least five times while recounting statements made by others. He was also found to have engaged in sexually inappro- priate conduct towards fe- male employees.
A $10 million fine is huge, and the 1-year suspension is significant. What more could the NBA have done than what they already did? James seems to have wanted Sarver stripped of his ownership and forced to sell the team.
Shaquille O'Neal Says Dennis Rodman Was His Worst Teammate: 'He Was A Great Player, But He Made It Hard'
DENNIS RODMAN AND SHAQUILLE O’NEAL
    Shaquille O'Neal
played for six franchises over a 20-year NBA career. That's a lot of teammates. Speaking on The Big Podcast with Shaq, the four-time cham- pion and Hall of Famer re- vealed which one of those teammates was the worst.
"Worst teammate? Den- nis Rodman," O'Neal said. "He was a great player, but he made it hard. Like when you try to corral the guys together and the people above you [are] letting this one guy do whatever he wants. So we had to be there an hour before the game. He'd come in fifteen
minutes before the game eat- ing chicken and rice. While the coaches are talking, he would jump in the shower. Cold shower. Come and give you 15-20 rebounds."
O'Neal played with some characters in his time. We know about his beef with Kobe Bryant, who we know wasn't always the easiest teammate to get along with, though Shaq has long ex- pressed regret over the way he and Bryant handled their relationship as young super- stars, and eventually, he be- came one of Bryant's biggest advocates.
