Jazz Night at The Retreat with Jim Martinez
Sunday, November 17th from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
A Pianist and Steinway Artist, Jim Martinez, has performed
or recorded with Jazz notables Lionel Hampton, the Stan
Kenton Alumni, Christian McBride, Russell Malone, Roy Hargrove,
Cheryl Bentyne (Manhattan Transfer), the Nelson Riddle Orchestra,
Benny Golson and Ed Thigpen, the first drummer for the famous Oscar Semi-Private Drawing Classes
Peterson Trio. Jim has also performed with various symphony orchestras Mondays 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
and toured as a featured guest with the U.S. Air Force Jazz Band from Supply list will be provided after sign-up.
Travis AFB . Enjoy the classic piano jazz sounds of Count Basie, Duke Instructor: Maria Winkler, Art Professor Emeritus,
Ellington, Oscar Peterson and others. Feel free to bring a beverage of Sac State, Sacramento, CA
your choice to enjoy during the show. $8.00 / per person Maria has had 40 years experience teaching drawing and painting
on the college level. One of her specialties is teaching drawing to
non-art majors.

Instructor Linda Kissela, PhD., has studied art extensively, includ-
ing France, Germany, Italy, U.K., and the U.S.
“We study composition, color, transparency, values, form, light
and shadow and more. We practice details and free style, we use
rich as well as subtle colors. We play good music and we relax.”
