Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 4th. Our guest
speaker will be Brynne Kennedy who is running for the California 4th
District. Our meeting starts at 7:00 pm in the Wellness Room at The
Club. Please come early at 6:30 pm to meet and greet and socialize.
As a reminder, our annual BBQ will be on Sunday, September 15th at

Cribbage
MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS @ 10AM CRIBBAGE IS PLAYED
AT THE CLUB UNTIL NOON
Come play CRIBBAGE with us every Monday and/or Wednesday from
10am to noon. We play two and three handed and partners with four.
Cards are drawn to see who plays with whom. If you have not played in a
long time, no problem, we will go slow and reacquaint you to the game.
We play to have fun and enjoy each other's company. If you would like
to learn Cribbage drop in or call Alan Uman. Any Questions e-mail Alan more comfortable with their devices and better learn many useful

Hand and Foot
Hand and Foot is a card game played Fridays at The Retreat, and has
become a great success. We have about thirty players every Friday,
playing from 2 pm until around 4 pm. Cards are drawn prior to playing
to determine who plays together. (Players should arrive by 1:50 pm in
order to draw cards so that play can begin by 2 pm.) If you want to learn
to play, contact Pete Frates by email pa_frates@comcast.net or phone
(916) 749-3054. Come join us to have fun, and meet new friends. You
are also welcome to come and observe how we play.
Helping Hands 2.0
Fall is in full swing and Helping Hands is back on track planning our fall
events.
Our next planned event is the New Homeowner Social on Sunday,
September 15, from 3-5pm at the home of Don and Patty Anderson, 209
Aske Court. Invitations have been mailed to our new residents that have
moved here since September 2018. If you did not receive an invitation

make sure that you receive one. Also, if you have received the
invitation, please be sure to RSVP to the same contact information by
September 11. This is a great opportunity to meet your new neighbors
and Helping Hands members and be welcome to our community.
On October 4 we will be joining the Club Open House with our fabulous
Chili Booth. Last year we sold out of 10 different chili offerings. Very
clearly a successful event and this year will be even better. The Open
House is a wonderful Club activity to meet members from our various
Shared Interest Groups and to enjoy great food and games. Look for
more information and details from Shannon.
Don’t forget to attend Coffee and Chat on Friday, September 27 at 9am.
Bring a friend and enjoy a cup of coffee with delicious breakfast treats;
meet new friends and meet up with old neighbors and hear about the
events that Shannon has planned for The Club.
We will again be participating in the November 9th Annual Craft Fair
with our wonderful Food Booth and looking forward to it. More
information for donations of food items will be sent closer to the event.
We always have such a huge response for donations, and we are so very
thankful.

Apple iClub
The Apple iClub meets the second Wednesday of the month from 10am
to noon in The Retreat library. Topics of interest to iPad/iPhone/iWatch
users are discussed. We offer sessions that help Apple users become
features. Some of the topics we discuss include using the Mail,
Messages, Photos, Camera, Contacts and Calendars Apps, as well as how
to use Settings to configure your device to best meet your needs.
Come join us for two hours of fun and learning more about your Apple
devices. If you have special questions or problems and would like help,
please come early (9am - 10am) and someone will be available to work
one-on-one with you.

Line Dancing
" “Laughing together is as close as you can get to a hug without touching”
Line Dancing meets every Friday at 12:00 noon in the Wellness Room.
This is a choreographed form of dance performed in one or more lines.
We dance to many different rhythms such as Latin, Swing, Waltz,
Country Western and even an Irish step dance. Join us for the "health" of
