Members of the Bike SIG meet in the lobby of The Retreat every Monday
through Friday to begin an easy-paced exercise ride at 8:00 AM. Cyclists of Bike Group
all levels of experience are welcome to join the Bike group on any daily ride.
Experienced cyclists within the group willingly help new riders familiarize
themselves with the bicycle trails and routes in the Roseville area.
Occasionally longer rides are scheduled for well-conditioned riders who want
something more challenging than the normal daily exercise ride. Rides via 12-
Bridges Road to Sun City Lincoln and sometimes to Sierra College Blvd. are
scheduled several times a year. Group rides on The American River Bike Trail
from the State of California fish hatchery parking lot into Old Town Sacramen-
to for lunch and back are a popular option for a longer ride.
Members of the Bike SIG also enjoy participating in annual organized rides in
the communities of Sutter, Lincoln, Sacramento and Davis and eagerly look
forward to the annual organized “Ride the Parkway” event along the American
River Bike Trail.
In addition to bicycling Bike SIG members occasionally get together for spe-
cial BBQs, lunches and bowling activities where spouses are invited to partici-
pate. If you would like more information about the group, contact Tony Santoro at 916-780-1401.
The Bunco Group is the oldest Shared Interest Group at The
Club. We started in 2006 and our first meeting was at the Sales
Office and then at one of the closed model homes before The
Retreat was even built. Membership has sure grown since
then.
It’s a way to spend a great evening to catch up with your
friends and neighbors. We always have fun and you may just
even win a gift card.
Bunco is a dice game and very easy to learn. It’s played with
three dice and is a little like Yahtzee. We roll for numbers one
through six and if you get three of a kind on the number you are
rolling for, that is a BUNCO!
We play every first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm.
Bunco Group (except November and December) You need to purchase a $15
punch card for six punches and $30 punch card for 12 punches
before start of play. All of the money goes toward buying the gift cards for prizes. We have prizes for Most Bunco’s, Most Wins and Most Losses. So come
down to The Retreat for fun and lively conversation at our next Bunco Group night. We are always looking for new members.
If you would like more information about the group, contact Janice Ingersoll or (916) 212-0127 or Darleene Tack (916)742-5116.
We call ourselves “The Bridge Group” here at The Club, but really we are a
group of people who have become good friends by bonding regularly over a
card table. Some of us have played for years and some have been playing for a
few months but we all come together and somehow manage to mesh our differ-
ent backgrounds. It’s a changing game these days so we are constantly learning
the new American Standard rules.
The group has been playing together for over 10 years and right now we have
about 30 active members. Our regular play day is Thursday afternoons from
1:00pm to 4:00pm. We also have a lively group on Saturday afternoons who
play the same hours and a learning clinic on Wednesday afternoons. All group
play is “drop in” – no one has to commit to being there and everybody is wel-
come in any group.
We are lucky to have two very experienced bridge teachers in our group who
provide us with lessons regularly. Like I said, it’s a changing game and the
more we learn together, the more we can help each other “master” this game.
We love to welcome new people and offer beginner lessons often. We have
made it pretty easy for newcomers to catch up and feel comfortable with the rest
of the group. We are all learning all the time and telling ourselves we are exer-
cising our brains at the same time!
