Introducing REaD (Rapid Enzyme activity Detection): A completely standalone deployable solution that uses off-the-shelf high throughput laboratory instruments with our proprietary substrate to rapidly and accurately detect the COVID-19 virus.
Top-Line Information
There are two enzymes (PLpro and 3CLpro) that are produced every time SARS-CoV-2 replicates
in an infected (human) host cell. The NowAware REaD test is designed to detect these enzymes. Upon interaction, the enzymes recognize the REaD substrate and produce a fluorescence signal.
An existing plate reader readily found in most labs will detect a spectrophotometric change (fluorescence emission) when our substrate reacts with a positive COVID-19 sample. The fluorescence emission is not present with negative samples of the virus.
NowAware uses chemistry in an inexpensive
and efficient fashion by using the virus’ unique biochemicals as the KEY to RAPIDLY react with and UNLOCK our patented color change molecules.
How It Works
The REaD test starts 1 with a tongue brush
sample collection from the patient.
A fluorescence
4 signal will indicate
a positive sample, and a negative sample will exhibit no change in fluorescence.
The microplate process allows for 32 samples to be processed in 20 seconds.
