Deciding how to honour the life of a loved one may seem overwhelming. The two major components of the decision process are how to care for their remains,
and how to celebrate their life whilst mourning your loss. In some cases, the answers are clear; in other cases, there are still many questions left unanswered. The decisions you face can be difficult and emotional. The following sections will provide enough information for you to understand your options and ultimately make the best decision for your loved one and for your family.
Caring For a Loved One’s Physicals Remains
The first choice to be made when preparing for the loss of a loved one is how to care for their physical remains. First, you must decide whether to bury or cremate the remains of your loved one. Each of these options lead to some further questions:
In cases of burial, you must choose both the cemetery and the casket that hold your loved one.
In cases of cremation, you must choose an appropriate urn (depending on their final disposition) to hold your loved one. Decisions such as whether to bury or scatter the cremation remains, as well as when and where to do so can be made at
