Create a ritual around these activities to get ready for bedtime that includes the final pieces in your “Daily 5” that you will learn about a bit later in this book.
Sleep is a learned skill. Just like anything else, we need to go at it Intentionally, Repeating the steps that lead us toward our goal, and Celebrating our efforts and victories, however small.
Later you will learn some very practical techniques to lower your cortisol and calm your mind. It is wise to integrate these new skills into your preparation ritual for sleep.

Honest confession: I do not like to exercise!
I’ve tried everything from hiring eager trainers to taking
up active sports in the hopes of getting hooked.
Nope. Not my thing.
I deeply admire the work of the great creator when she
designed the sloth. That fuzzy beast hits a top speed of three metres per minute, and that’s upside down in a tree! They have a very slow metabolism and as a result this lazy beast does just fine with no exercise.
But humans, we need to move. Our metabolism is not designed to be stationary, but is designed to perform best when pushed a bit. The saying “Use it or lose it” very much applies when it comes to our body.
It is not just your mobility and longevity that are exercise- dependent; your brain needs the support of your body and all of its systems in order to perform well. Critically, your heart
