HOW TO MANAGE ANXIETY & END PANIC ATTACKS
pumps oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to your brain, and this is the very fuel that makes your brain function well. Mess with any link in the system, and you mess with your brain.
So the idea here is to get active. Join a gym or play a recreational sport like squash or tennis. Keep in mind that just about anything can become habit, and even addictive, if you keep at it long enough. And if you just can’t wrap your ahead around these high-level activities, then at least find some way to get moving!
The best I have figured out as a bottom line, should you not be a gym bunny or not be hooked on an exercise-dependent sport or activity, is this:
Get your heart rate escalated for 20 minutes a day:
• Get off a stop early on your way to work or home, and walk briskly
• Go play with your kids in the park and try to keep up!
• Take the dog for a brisk walk
• Take the stairs or get off the elevator a floor (or four!) early
• Invite your clients to meetings that take place on a brisk walk; it’s not surprising how better ideas seem to spring forth when your brain is getting an excess of oxygenated blood!
• Take up a sport or game that involves high activity
• Go swimming
• Join a square dance group or take your other half to swing classes (and this can make a fun first date too!)
