                                                                    and Wednesday the 24  May, 2017 at the
                                                                    Fisheries Division Conference room.

                                                                    The project involves the training of local
                                                                    Beekeepers and the construction, estab-
                                                                    lishment, monitoring and evaluation of 12
                                                                    Perone hives in 4 apiaries across St. Vin-
                                                                    cent and the Grenadines.

           Many  may  know  the  rabbit  as  a  unique
           pet; however, they are also used as a deli-
           cacy to make a wide variety of dishes.

           In  an  effort  to  create  self-employment  in
           the  communities  of  Troumaca  and  Rose
           Hall, the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF)
           collaborated with the Rural Transformation
           Unit within the Ministry of Agriculture, Ru-
           ral Transformation, Forestry and Fisheries
           to host a workshop to educate 40 persons
           in these communities on the rearing, ways
           to prepare and utilize the rabbit.

           According to Ms. Currel Thompson, Senior
           Technical  Officer  with  the  Rural  Transfor-
           mation  Unit,  this  activity  forms  part  of  a
           “Rabbit Rearing Project,”
