Creating the National Museum of African American History and Culture
during the Age of Bush, Obama, and Trump
Overview
A Fool's Errand is Founding Director Lonnie Bunch's tale
of the triumphs and challenges of bringing the
Smithsonian National Museum of African American
History and Culture to life.
The tour will visit major markets nationwide and will
include Book sales to benefit the Museum, and serve as
donor cultivation for the Museum's new fundraising
campaign.
The release date for A Fool's Errand is currently
scheduled for September 24, 2019, the third
anniversary of the Museum's Grand Opening. The book
tour will be from August through February 2020. Kick-
off events will include a private August pre-launch in
Martha’s Vineyard and a release day event at
NMAAHC.
