East West Scholarships
East West Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteerism. The following students were unfortunately unable to receive their awards at the East West Scholarship Dinner this year, so we are pleased to acknowledge their accomplishments in this booklet.
Sandhya Bodapati
Class of 2023
At Santa Clara University, Sandhya earned the President’s “Student Leadership Award” for her tireless
work for the University. Her heart for others is great and is shown through her volunteerism at the Alzheimer’s Activity Center, Alma Youth Center, Pomona
Community Health Action Team, Global Medical Brigades, and “Mini Medical School” at WesternU.
Farigol Hakem Zadeh
Class of 2023
Farigol has traveled to three continents and witnessed first-hand many unique perspectives on life and health. She volunteers with the Pomona Homeless Outreach Project, Compression Only CPR, and God’s Pantry Food Bank. Farigol wishes to continue serving the
disadvantaged, raising awareness, and inspiring people to help impoverished populations.
Beulah Chan Wong Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Dr. Eugene Chan and Michael Wong, DO ’91, in honor of Dr. Chan’s sister and Dr. Wong’s mother, Beulah. This scholarship is awarded to an osteopathic medical student in financial need.
Audrey Park
Class of 2021
Audrey has a servant’s heart for every community she serves. She began volunteering well before coming to COMP, having worked
at “Mary’s Soup Kitchen” serving the homeless and underserved.
She is humbled by her work and treats everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve. When she has
a free weekend; she volunteers her time at the Orangewood Family and Children’s center. When on campus, Audrey works with the area high school students through the “Pipeline to Health Careers” program and continues to serve the homeless though the Pomona Homeless Outreach Project (PHOP).
