Destructive search
10.27 A destructive search of the bund within the north-west corner of the Site will be undertaken on
completion of the reptile relocation works under supervision of a suitably experienced ecologist. This
will enable the relocation of any remaining reptiles that have evaded capture.
10.28 Any destructive searches will be undertaken at a time when reptiles are expected to be active (March
- October) and during suitable weather conditions.
10.29 Any destructive searches that would impact suitable bird nesting habitat will be undertaken outside
of the bird nesting season or once bird nesting habitat has been appropriately removed from the Site.
10.30 Grassland within the development site will be kept mown to ground level following completion of the
reptile relocation and prior to the commencement of development works within the site.
Long-term habitat management
10.31 Habitat within the receptor area will be appropriately managed and maintained to provide long term
habitat for reptiles. In addition, boundary habitats around the Site will be managed to provide long-
term habitat corridors for reptiles.
10.32 The receptor area will be monitored in years 1, 3 and 5 post relocation. Monitoring will include 2no.
walk over surveys per year to assess the ongoing habitat suitability within the site. The results of the
surveys will inform the ongoing management of the site and any remediation measures required.
