Wildflower-Meadow Planting

A key focal point for the development creating a strong landscape
focused sense of place to the new neighborhood and promoting
biodiversity enhancement. The SuDS, meadow planting and pathways
create recreational and relaxation opportunities within a naturalised
settlement. The attenuation pond will be planted with native plant species Play Area Provision
to create both visual and habitat enrichment. The SuDS function as a
water storage area during high rainfall events and would therefore include
some variation in landform. A mixed palette of tree planting would be
included to provide shade and shelter, as well as softening views of built
form. The informal open spaces include landscape features (Liriodendron
tulipifera and Hamamelis virginiana) which function as focal points, assist
with wayfinding, and provide seasonal interest. This area will also include
seating areas and will accommodate play areas to encourage its use by
the local community.
