ZONE 5

           BOUNDARY BUFFER

Exisitng Vegetation Along the Boundaries to be Retained and Reinforced

The landscape in this transition zone will have an important function to
filter views. The boundary buffer provides a minimum 5m buffer. The edges
along the boundaries of the Site are to be retained, and reinforced. Existing
trees along the Site boundaries will be retained and good quality trees will
be introduced within the Site and will be managed as part of a network Native Hedgerow
of structural vegetation connecting into wider Green Infrastructure to
retain and enhance the important softening and screening function, and
to deliver enhancements to this habitat. Native hedgerow, hedgerow tree
planting and wildflower meadow areas are introduced to promote and
increase the biodiversity value of the Site. A non-accessible to the public
area of hibernacula and log piles is introduced to enrich the biodiversity.
This zone maintains a naturalistic landscape character that complements
and enriches existing native hedgerow, drawing upon hedgerow species
in the planting palette of the boundaries.
